  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Whatever is wrong with my left wrist doesn't seem to be going away.
Nothing shows up on x-rays that the doc could see.
I'd like to try a set of Flexx bars on the TE511 but wow, what a bewildering array of options.

The stock bars are about the right height and angles for me, anybody know what Flexx bar is close?
Also, what bits need to go on to use bark-busters? (have Cycra pro-bends on there now)
 
I have the 12 degree moto. They are way too wide. Be sure to get the enduro, they are an inch narrower. Dont get any of the ones marked "tall" they are way too tall. 12 degree enduro should be perfect for you. There is a trick to using them. When you mount them you want the risers to be perfectly lined up with the forks when looking at them from the side of the bike. Dont have the bars pushed forward or pulled back, make them even with the angle of the forks, this is where they work best. Also, and some people dont agree with this but, dont use any handguards that are "wrap around" style and mount to the end of the handlebars. This wont allow the bars to Flex like they should. Other than that, you should love them.

there are handguard options that mount to the ends of the bars and the pivot point of the flexbar so you can had wrap around handguards and not diminish the pivoting affect.

Yes, I've used them. Although they do allow some flex, I dont think you get the full benefit of the flexx bars. But then again, wraparounds are nice.

If they are attached to the pivot point they do not interfere with how the flexxbars work.
 
I have snapped a few MTB bars and will not ever by CF bars again. Period. I like CF for pipe guards and stuff like that but don't want any for anything structural on the dirtbike. My opinion only.

They aren't a true CF bar. They are a composite of several materials in a solid layered bar. Apparently they cannot be broken off. Their failure point is well above the aluminum bars and when they do fail they bend and do not return completely. I have two rides on mine and really like them.

You do not buy these bars as a weight savings as they are the same as aluminum bars.

Never heard of Twisted Eng before, just had a browse of the website.
Interesting.

I am curious if I need to be concerned about CF fatigue in year or 2.

but they are def lighter than flexxbars
 
Flexx bars have never interested me (seem heavy and clumsy) but damn, those Twisted Eng bars look like the ticket.

I had that same issue. You must have tried to choose the cheapest shipping option. You have to choose UPS
 
Remember the TE top mount will not bolt up to the husky bar mounts. Different bolt spacing. You will have to purchase a lower bar mount from someone like BRP.
 
DOn't buy anything else then the Flexbar or a proper Flexbar.
I used to have wrist problems .
I did run the Flexbar on my Race Quad and have now installed on my TE511. I run the Yellow Softer Dampener on the Downside. They have quite some Movement in em. My colleagues love the BAR too, but they to tide to spend the Money. They prefer 1-2 slabs of beer a week and winching on the Ride.
Same as Mousse Tubes. Everyone thinks they don't last, but never run em. HOW to they even know ??? Been out lately with a friend who was pitching against Mousses. Just ten Minute in the ride and he had a flat on the rear. Well that Weekend was stuffed since he didnt have any tools with em. He's on Mousses Now.

But if you got Wrist propblems, there is no better Solution then a FLEXBAR. Rocky Mountain ATV got them on Sale at the Moment. Get them worth every Dollar.
Trailriding should be a enjoyable and not a push for the next stop to get a break from the pain.... And there will a bit less Armpump.
 
Fasst has their Flexx bars on sale until the end of the month. $50 off. I have them on both my 310 and my YZ250. With the YZ, they seem to also help with the 2-stroke buzz you feel through the bars. You can also order Cyra wraparound handguards from Fasst that mount to the pivot points so they do not inhibit the flex motion.
They are expensive but as most testimonials on their website state, guys into their 40s and 50s love them. I am one of those guys. I have the 12 degree enduro on both bikes. Plus they have taken several good spills with no damage. They are very strong. They are not light by any means but I feel they are worth the money and weight on the bike.

That is my number one complaint. I am not a big guy and like my bikes light...I know...I am on a 449...

Anyway, I was VERY close to pulling the trigger as I have terrible shoulder issues and liked the feel of them on buddy bikes...that is until I felt them off the bike. What in God's name did they make them out of? I just did not feel that adding 5 pounds of weight (maybe more???) SO far up top was a good idea.

They are spendy and I think for the money, they could get some better alloys to shed some weight.
