  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fasst Co. Flexx Handlebar

That is my number one complaint. I am not a big guy and like my bikes light...I know...I am on a 449...

Anyway, I was VERY close to pulling the trigger as I have terrible shoulder issues and liked the feel of them on buddy bikes...that is until I felt them off the bike. What in God's name did they make them out of? I just did not feel that adding 5 pounds of weight (maybe more???) SO far up top was a good idea.

They are spendy and I think for the money, they could get some better alloys to shed some weight.

I am not sure what they weigh and yes, they are significantly heavier than a traditional aluminum bar. Did you feel the additional weight on your buddies' bike when you tried them out? I personally don't feel any "heft" added to the front end.

Ty Davis, Gary Sutherlin and I run the Flexx bars at Zipty. Most of my KTM family and friends run them. Ty runs black/black bushings and I run blue compression/yellow rebound. I personally run the 116mm 12° enduro bends. Regular height is 92mm and less weight, but I enjoy the extra height while standing up. Washboard roads and small rocks are not felt anymore. While riding, I cannot tell the bars even move. I have added highwaydirtbikes tapped antivibration end tuners, Cryca hand guards and BRP billet pivot mounts. I have dumped my 511 at high speeds, end over end and the bars are rock solid.

If you still need help choosing the correct Flexx setup, give Cole Townsend a call at Faast. He is the original creator of the bars and can set you up with the exact bend and size to suit your needs.

you wouldn't even recognize these Handlebars... ON a KTM or whatever bike with fueltank in the Front, i bet u cant tell when u have 2 liters less fuel in there. Honestly.!?

I tape a penny to my front fender. Helps hold the front wheel down. :D

I tried to order the Twisted bars package deal but the website has a glitch.
Says there are no carriers to deliver to my address. Funny!
The website will not proceed past this step.
Sent them a message but no answer yet.

Update:
I did get a reply from Doug Cain, VP of Twisted Eng that the website had a glitch on international sales and they could bypass the website with a direct order and a paypal invoice.
He also warned that they were running 2 to 3 weeks of backlog.
So, I ordered anyway, paid the paypal and have been waiting.
Three weeks today, in fact.
Will let y'all know what happens next...

I am pretty sensitive to bike setup...it is a bit of an OC issue. Ie if I drop the bike and my bars twist a single mm int he clamps I almost cannot ride...MUST get them spot on straight. I have gone so far as selling my stabilizer as I had to draw the line on weight and just took everything off that I could.

I will say that I cannot tell the fuel level on the new TE. On any traditional tank bike I can always tell when the tank gets low. I am a forward on the seat with the knees on the spoilers-style rider, so I move the top of the bike allot.

All that being said, I love the FLEXX concept...and they seem to work very well. If someone came out with a similar product with maybe less isolation or less over engineering I would jump on it.

I did chuckle when we put a new set on - there was a warning that read something like "If this motorcycle is dropped or falls over, you ust replace this bar assembly."...or something along those lines. If I needed to replace my bars and helmet each time I bit the rocks I would need a trailer full of bars and helmets for each ride and just tow it behind me!
