  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

CV4 Radiator hoses

I just put the CV4 Radiator hoses on my 2012 TE310 and I must say I'm a little puzzled. Who designed the radiator hoses that come stock on these bikes? The Stock hose setup is an octopus on crack. The CV4 setup is so much better. Why can't OEM parts be this simple? Anywho, those new red radiator hoses look quick proper and I can't to try them out. Just need to get some real hose clamps on the small fuel hose that goes under the tank. Plus did the the fuel pump zip ty mod and the installed the metal fuel hose tube out of the fuel tank. Also Used the Zip Ty Racing waterless coolant. We'll see how these mods add up. Gotta bullet proof this thing for the Las Angeles to Las Vegas run over Thanksgiving.

Ty said there is tons of air that flows past it and it doesn't melt. Only time he has melted it is when the pipe got smashed and had constant contact.

Could someone post a link or part # to the CV4 hoses for a '13 TXC310R ?? I've searched every where and haven't found anyone that carries them or says they are even available. Thanks

I have a 13 TXC 310 and just had my dealer install the CV4 hoses. He removed the fan and other parts which makes it a better install from what he said. I can get the part number from him and the specific parts he removed if you like. When I get back in town, I can get a couple of pics and send to you if you like.

Your gonna wish you kept that fan.

So far so good. We have a good friend who has very successfully raced his 310 this year (and placing in top 3 for season in pro class) stripping down some things including the fan and he has had no problems. The way my luck is, you are probably right.

My guess the reason your dealer removed the fan and other parts (most likely the thermostat and temp sensor) is he couldn't figure out how to make everything work right with the CV4 kit. Removing the fan is not a good idea IMO. The red heads use a different coolant setup than the CV4 hose kit was designed for.

Isn't the temp sensor in the water jacket on the engine? The 310's run so hot it's probably no big deal removing the thermostat. Might even improve things, but running hard up a hill then stopping at the top it is nice to have a fan.

Pretty sure the new redheads have the sensor in the cooling lines. Ours has it in the head. Look at number 26.
