  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

CV4 Radiator hoses

Hey Reveille, on your new hoses, how is the exhaust clearance on the crossover hose?

About the same as the OEM line, maybe a bit more clearance. I used the goofy OEM bracket to hold it away but it's closer to the actual head than the pipe. I honestly haven't had much opportunity to ride it with the current setup due to deep snow.

I'm thinking about going with blue hoses. I've got a blue RaceTech spring in the back and it looks good with the red and white of the bike.

Its easy you just measure the size of the sensor and cut a section from the hose and stick the sensor back in line. I moved the sensor to the LHS in the middle of the verticle line on my 2013 TXCR, making sure it doesnt hit the back of the LHS rad. I'll find my fotos and post them. Also the place above the header on that seperater bracket, I just sliced and old rad hose and slipped over the new hose to make a doubler for extra thickness, that is also done on the lower hose at the LHS front area where the hose is exposed to trail hack, and I doubled the hose at the petcock chafe area on the LHS as well even though I added the ZipTy tank specers. Its all about bullet proofing your machine. As for the thermostat-gone!! to me its just another potential fail point .

I like the idea of using the old rubber hose as a sacrificial heat barrier by the header. That OEM cooling line contraption gives me a headache when I look at it sitting in the extra parts bin. Thanks

the CV4 hose set up is the same set up as the TC250, it just eliminates the thermostat that the TE and TXC has. It works just fine. As you can see the fan is easily retained, and you can see my Enduro Engineering swiss cheesed rad guards as well as the lower left side hose doubler which is the same set up I used on top of the exhaust hose heat isolator bracket (leave it on) and I added a doubler at the upper hose where it comes in contact with the fuel pump plate for added security.
