• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Australian Te 630 Newbie Set Up

Hey CindyTalk, thanks for the useful info. Would you mind sharing the contact details you had for that person at Husqvarna? I'd like to find out whether my 610 is LAMS or not - since I'm on my Ps!

For everyone: is it possible this could explain the serial number vs. power displayed in the parts book?

DB

If you call the person at the other end will do nothing more than look at the lists below.

The '06 TE 610 is on the NSW, SA and NT lists. It does not appear to be on the Vic and Qld lists. Even if you had a 22kW bike (which is doubtful), if it isn't listed on your states approved bikes list then you cannot ride it on a restricted licence... period.

These guys are very helpful.

On your ergo it should say LAMS, I have the 310 and it say LAMS.
630 is a very versatile bike and is designed to be long legged. Don't get to hung up on the restrictions certain US states impose on their bikes.
I put a set of Barrett pipes, the PU kit and larger sprocket on the rear to give it some oomph!
There's lots more you can do, but depends on what you want the bike for. My 310 goes really well, popping wheelies but you would struggle to get to 100k (60mph) but its not designed for that. I think a Supamoto 630 would be nice but then theres the Nuda R, mmmh!

Hope this helps:thumbsup:

Interesting, the last 3 numbers on your 630's VIN were 307, mine is 311 also non-LAMS sequence, so probably on the production line at the same time.

I note you've traded it for a 310. Have been thinking about a KTM350EXCF myself, but would keep the 630. Did you swap so you could ride the Wattagans more comfortably? If so how's the 310 going & is it much easier in the bush?

Actually quite the opposite in the US as no state I'm aware of has hp restrictions. Most you'll find is a couple with add-on req't mandated to improve emissions but those don't take away power. Also here you can get your first ever motorcycle license and immediately be legal to drive that 160hp 1300cc fire breathing drag racer. No restrictions on hp or cc's for new licensees in most states (this not necessarily a good thing).

If money was no object (and I was single lol) I would have kept the 630. The 310 is great, nice and light powerful too. It easy to maneuverer in the tight stuff especially when you get stuck as often as I do and need to lift it out.

Slightly pedantic... Your rego says LAMS. Your mods make it non-LAMS so not allowed on a restricted licence. It'd be a sharp cop that would catch something like that. It'd be a dozing inspector who'd miss it.
