• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

ASV LEVERS THAT FIT A SMS 630 !!

Since I purchased my SMS 630 last July I have always wanted to change the levers to a short adjustable type that were also unbreakable. Through the help of Jason Gilbert at ASV Inventions
(ext. 108), I was able to decide on a C6 Clutch Lever and a C5 Brake Lever that were installed yesterday with no problems at all. The best part was no modifications were needed and both the brake light switch and clutch switch function properly as did the original levers. I also purchased a Clutch Perch Dust Cover to complete the "look". The part numbers are listed below.

CDC602-SK (SHORT BLACK C6 CLUTCH LEVER)
BRC555-SK (SHORT BLACK C5 BRAKE LEVER)
KCDC03 (CLUTCH DUST COVER FOR MAGURA)

I did decide to use the original barrel and plunger for the clutch installation so I could retain the red adjustment knob. If I did the installation again it would probably take less than 30 minutes for both sides. I hope this will help some of you that have been looking like I have for a long time.

Is the pivot point different or are they just shorter?
The pivot points are the same and as you can see the levers are shorter. The other "pivot" point that appears as a silver allen bolt is the pivot so the lever can bend forward and not break in the event of a crash. The levers are spring loaded to move forward and return to the original position.

Would be great if they could identify some that would work with the 610 - non hydro clutch ....

Give Jason a call ! Without his knowledge of ASV's products and applications I would not have these levers on my bike today. If you look at their off-road application chart you will see several listings for Husqvarna, one of which may fit a 610 non hydro. A five minute call could put you on the right track. During our conversation he told me without at doubt that the C6 clutch lever would fit my bike and it did, but asked me to remove my brake lever and send him a photo. As soon as he received the photo I received a email with all of the correct part numbers. The only choice then to make was lever length and color. I hope this will help you ! I can't say enough good things about their customer service and products.

Here are the links, I think.

Do those look right?

I can't find the dust cover on their site.

For $200+, I'll probably skip them for now.
KCDC03 (CLUTCH DUST COVER FOR MAGURA)
The part number for the dust cover is not listed on the site, Jason had to give it to me and I had to list it under the special instruction area of my order. The number is listed above. And yes they do look correct - just choose your length and color which will be the last two letters of the part number.

I figured I'd have to just call to make sure I get the correct stuff.

I'm not quite ready to drop that kind of coin for some shorty levers, though.

I was one of the lucky few that were in the market for a supermoto when the price dropped last year. I was just days away from paying very close to MSRP and then the price reduction. Since I already had that price "approved" in my head and planned to add accessories as I could I just decided to put the savings from the price drop back into the bike. I never sell my toys so I really don't worry about getting some of it back later. As I complete my project I will continue to post photos to share my progress. Most of my add-ons have come from ideas you guys and "girls" have posted with success and a few are from the sponsors that have put up with my endless questions. I value all of your opinions and hope you will like the end result as much as I do.
