• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Andreas Lettenbichler 2nd overall at Romaniacs 2012

Mini-Sponsor
ANDREAS LETTENBICHLER 2ND OVERALL AT RED BULL ROMANIACS 2012
The Red Bull Romaniacs, one of the toughest Hard Enduro races of the world, this year was started only three days after the famous Erzbergrodeo. This means less time for the riders to recover and prepare. A third place in the Prologue showed that Andreas “Letti” Lettenbichler took his role as one of the possible winners very serious. With his WR300 Letti showed with impressive podium finishes during the three off road days that he definitely was one of the favorites for the victory. At the end a 2nd place in the overall standings is a great result for the German rider.

You gotta give it up to this guy who whipped every new tech pimkin coming his way ... What a stud!

Why would this guy ride a Husky? Its beyond me ....

Yeah, it is the cross over item that nearly all fans and participants cross paths with daily. Not oil, not even clothing. Even that 300 pounder watching in the heavy duty lounge chair is drinking red bull to stay awake for the main.

Yep, its pretty remarkable how much they must sell ... Maybe other companies have pushed the industry as much in the past but I don't remember who that might have been other than the bike companies themselves ... We have the drinks here ... different bands called Cobra and Sting ... a few more ... About 25 cents a bottle ... 1 works good for me ...

Thats a pretty impressive banner hanging in the woods also in the top pic ... Is that real or just a photoshop addition?

For this years Last Man Standing at Glen Helen Calif Red Bull was the major sponsor. We had the big banner
all the signs everywhere Plus nice young ladies walking around passing out free red bull to everyone.
then for the pro there was a bigger pay out then last year. That is how we like it
think i need a red bull this morning after racing all day sat and watching Romanics all day sun

It is amazing to see some of the stuff those guys have to ride. I was on the plane this am with Letti and Johnny Walker. Kendall was supposed to be there, but I think he overslept, can't much blame him.

Big hand to Kendall for getting to the finish. I talked quite a bit with Johnny Walker. He is trying to figure out how to the funds together to come to X Games.

Overall a really cool event and great place to travel. I have pic of some kind of canister mounted on the side of Letti's cylinder, not quite sure what it is, I have not looked at it close yet. It might be something that increased the PV volume or something. I will post it when I get home.

What place did Kendal get? As for the Husky 300 some of the early factory bikes had a adjustable PV
set up.Also Please look at some of the pictures you took of the Husky 300 looks like he had a
hydrolic clutch That is one thing I would like to see about as my clutch is so hard to pull.

There's a strange thing to see coming from someone, who, I assume, is a Husky liker, Ray Ray.

He's being paid - there's a good thing.

He, is 'supposedly' part of the development team for the 'new' 2ts.

Letti, along with, I think, Gerhard Forster (?), are two of the most overlooked, but extremely successful Extreme / Hard Enduro riders. Both, have done very well, on 4ts, when KTM, for example, won't even put their better riders on 4ts, in Extreme events. I may be wrong, but I don't think TB has won on the 350, in Erzberg etc - Yet.

That he's riding Huskies, and doing so well on them, especially on such an essentially, old design, can't be anything but good for Husky.

Energy Drinks - current times 'Sugar Daddy' to motorcycles, and so many other sports. More so than even than Tobacco sponsorship, years ago. I admit I'm being cynical / a bit of a smartarse, but, I wonder how long till the 'Energy Drinks' are targeted by the 'nannies' for their effects on the publics health? I've no problem with them at all, as, like tobacco, I don't use them. No, I'm far from a health nut, I just dislike the taste of all those I've tried. I'm happy to see them throwing their money around, that's for sure.
