• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A day in the life of: www.hva-factory.com

As to the itc shock springs. I made up a set with two springs from my parts pile, later I discovered they only came with one long one. That might be an option for others. I have been told the new replacement shocks come with two.

I dig the T shirt more.....In fact at last GNCC gave it to an admiring buddy. Who says a Husky rider will not give you the shirt off his back! I absoluteley refused to give up my HVA Parts jersy.....those are spot on 1982! have one and they are awsome....thanks for making them andy

Some more pics from Andy and Rob's ride at the Tref, both guys rode a fantastic race both beating a lot of modern bikes in a modern event. 3 days of incredible off road terrain and around 250 kilometres a day, riding with some of the worlds top enduro riders, past and present, is a hard ask for bikes over 30 years old. Because of Andy's hard work and enthusiasm we can still race these old bikes without fear of damaging some irreplaceable part, Andy has made sure that what has become unobtainable he will have re-manufactured by his own skills or sourced out to a third party.
Out of the 3 bikes entered only the 510 had a couple of minor issues, the rear brake rod got itself wrapped around a tree stump and was ripped off and the damping in the Ohlin ITC's shocks went off because of the heat. Neither issue stopped Rob from a well earned finish. My own HVA-Factory 300 ran all of the first day faultlessly, it was only an ongoing back problem that caused me to retire.
Rob and I say thanks to Andy at HVA-Factory for being a true Husqvarna enthusiast, both personally and as a business. If it were not for the likes of him our hobby and sport would be in a much poorer place.
