  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

530 big bore kit installed!

Had a local head guru here port my 06 TC250 and in his opinion there is good gains to be had porting the intake side of the head. I had a 300 kit installed at the same time so I do not know what the head porting did but the bike flat ripped.

Any reason these kits would be in short supply any time soon? I definitely want one when it's time for a new topend but probably won't need it for months.

Any Idea on what going rates are to port the intake on my head? Its apart so it would be a good time to do it.

Yes it will fit your 510. I think the next step would be full Titanium exhaust, or the RR model Ignition, theres also a cam, and even a full RR model head. Go to your husky dealer and ask to look at the special parts catalogue. Lots of stuff for your bike in there.

Gan you give some guide... my dealer claim that i dont need any titanium exhaust, because i have dual slip+ Mikuni EFI box. And that 530cc kit would´t fit or work my bike and head is for garb models...

I have special parts catalogue in home

Sorry my bad english

Im not sure bout the head model being for carbs. as for the 530 kit, It WILL work for all years 510. This thread was started for a newer FI bike with the kit, and it says in the special parts catalogue that its for 06-09 bikes! Dont let a dealer parts guy tell you something wrong..

As for exhaust, The Titanium reduces weight, and gives a little bit of power gains over stock exhaust. You could get the Full Titanium Dual exhuast for your bike. Since you already have the slip on, maybe you could just get the headers and midpipe.

Or you could get TE510 exhaust if you wanted to go to a single sided exhaust and save even more weight. They have a full Titanium system for the 08-newer bikes. Plus theres one less thing to break when you wreck. MXRider did it on his bike>> http://www.supermotojunkie.com/show...dual-exhaust-to-single-exhaust-mod&highlight=

Thanks, i mid try those head parts, 530kit, headers/mid pipe, RR model Ignition. I dont now that whole RR head, that may cost lot of money.
Those Arrow dual slip+Mikuni box cost lot of money, i dont bother replace those...

You'll definitely have a beast of a race machine if you do all that! Good luck and keep us posted

Ps. sorry my english

My 530 kit is done. Haven't put much time on it because it has been freaking cold. But first impressions are holy sh*t! Can't wait to ring it out.

Juicehall

What year 510 did you add the big bore kit too? What did you do with the fuel metering to compensate for the big bore?

Wow... I forgot this thread was on here.

More grunt is always better!

You may be disappointed up top since it is all over at about 9,000rpm, but I tried to ride it with 15/41 gearing and I could not keep the front end on the ground because of the midrange hit... it is a great problem to have.

I also think the response for me was crisper since I got the EFI dead nuts at the same time (and I drilled a lot of .25 holes in the side panel for better breathing).

Since you are carbed getting the jetting perfect will be the icing on top.

You know maybe there is some low hanging fruit via a some porting of the head actually.

Obviously going with the RR cams and valves would solve that, but next time I tear into the engine maybe I will send the head out to someone that knows what they are doing.

A new RR intake cam is like $3xx I think. Its just the Intake cam, no exhaust. Hall's said it is best used with a set of HD springs..

When I get the thing dyno tune done I will post what jets I am using. I can't remeber what I put in there know but they are very very close to stock. I live a 4600ft and the bike had been leaned out quit a lot. So with the kit i'm either stock or 1 step to the lean side of stock. I am a numbers guy so I would like to have the dyno tune done and see what kind of power it can make, then pull the motor and have the head done and do a new dyno tune.

The bike is a 2005 smr. It has under 1000 miles and I ruined the motor. So now it has new bearings and a new connecting rod to go along with the 530 kit.

I have been thinking of ordering the power up kit for my 450 from Husky.
it comes with the intake cam, valve springs and a piston.

under the description it says TE to TC conversion, and I am guessing the RR uses the TC cam and pistons, unless someone else knows for sure.
