• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

And this is also for the 2006 models. i had a 530 kit on my 510 smr 2006!!

Did you alter the fuel metering with the 530 kit from the stock 510 sleve/slug?

You can put the 530 kit on your 450, but then you will get... somewhere between 480-500cc

How did that work ? I thought the bigger CC's came from a longer stroke not bore?

I was always told that you needed to change the 450 crank to a 510 crank inorder to go to 530cc as I wanted to do this, can you provide details on how you got this to work please ?

Many thanks

I believe you would need to swap the cylinder as well as it is taller on the 510. Cam chain? Airbox boot? (higher placed carb?). I think that would get expensive real quick.

Kit works good for both carbed and EFI 510's? The 2010 Husky catalog list their 530 kit for 06/07 bikes but the 2009 catalog list the same part number for 06/07/08/09 bikes. Huh?

Will be buying a 310 kit for the 08 TE 250 first, hopefully soon.

Who's the manufacturer of these kits and how long will they be available at that price? I wonder if the stock EFI system is adequate for the extra 30cc. The sm530rr's use carburetors.

The EFI question is definitely mine ... do we need to reflash to something else? Seems like that'd be possible if it were an OEM unit, particularly (and it is OEM, yes?)

Kelly, did you get a chance to take some pics, etc.? Oh, and do you have any left?

Hi Jeffchri, we do still have a 530 kit left and yes they are OEM kits. The one we did frm the shop was a carbed 2008 TXC 510 and no jetting changes were required which means the bikes run a little rich. If I wanted to do adjustments I would probably get a newer ecu which allows adjustments in the power up mode.

450-480?

Anyone out there currently using the 450 with the BB kit? Sounds pretty cool. Would you need to have cams to match? Looking at a 07 450 and just wondering if it would retrofit that far back?

Cheers,

T:thumbsup:

Definitely. I was told by Motosportz Mike that it fits my 05 even. The cams are identical IIRC.

Just waiting for some paper specs ATM.

Might be stupid question but does that kit fit 2010 510 smr
What else power parts is available, i have allready Arrow dual slip on and Mikuni EFI box

Just picked mine up from the post office today - Thanks!!
Now awaiting bearings and the 510 crank and im ready to assemble.

Bearings too? dam, and here ive been waiting 3 months lol
I have a crank and all other associated parts coming from Halls.
Will post when built - 450 dyno HP and 530 dyno HP!

What type of review would you like?
The cylinder is a cast Husqvarna unit, head gasket 1.2mm, base gasket, piston and rings. Looks to be a snap to bolt on. Best part is; it's supplied by a site sponsor and customer service was excellent - a pleasure to do business with.

Unless I've missed it in this thread, what is the compression ratio? Same as stock TE510?

How does installation of the kit impact the torque and HP curves compared to a stock PU (TE510)
