  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

449 oil saturated air filter solved

dirttracker1

Husqvarna
AA Class
racing the Husky 449 at hi rev.bring oil spitting from the vent and get filter saturated with oil
keep the oil at the bottom of the sight window help but if you ride the hell out of it it might not
being enough and You don't want oil in there.
I found out that some year production Harley Davidson Evolution motors use a baffle
(it a small black plastic baffle)that will fit right in the breather hose and We been oil spitting free
ever since, the baffle is about 3.00$ at Your local H-D dealer, just slide the small baffle down
the middle the S-shape breather hose and problem solved.;)

thanks to point out that thread, now at this point I realy need an ECU to evolve,I got a fast bike
but I'm flatenout on top,I wish I had some help with R&D where Husky flunk and keep too many secret.:(
if someone can help call Marc @ DGR motorsport 570-294-4808

We were the Husqvarna factory race team last year as you know I'm sure. All of our bikes ran the powercommander 5. Did you install a TC449 filter cover? Which exhaust are you running?

Are you running a JD tuner or Powercommander? If not your leaving a lot on the table. A pipe obviously helps as well.

Good luck to you guys, loved your win reports last year.

do you find the CTS and rear tank to be good for this type of racing or an issue?

The bike is awesome at high speed, very fast
Of the start and through the gears
Throttle response is flawless and feel
Lighter than the 250
i'm sitting at 52h.p.with stock pipe clear of
Spark lim. We got head work, huge web cams
Bored out throttle body and jd tuner
It is surprisingly fast for the numbers
but 58 or 60 h.p.would be devastating for
The 64'ish HOnda

The stock exhaust is okay, but not great, FMF mega bomb/4.1rct combo is the best money can buy. PC5 will add more power and allow fine tune. I am surprised you only have 52hp with cams and head work, something isn't set up right. I wonder if your torque limiter is slipping?

Dynos don't lies but they are all different
I wish i would have made a pass when it was stock
To see the gain, all i know it is a lot faster
our dyno give a good stock honda 49hp while an
Other give 54...so is it 52 or 57
I think 52 because we clock expert level honda at 62hp
That is with downpipe...the stock husky don't have 49
The first few horses are just catching up

You're right, that is a problem. Another problem is that the dyno's measure torque and calculate the hp curve. This is a problem because I can put a 17" slick on the back of my bike with torque sprocket setups and show a huge hp increase. Hey look, I have 72 HP... yea.
