  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

430 dynoport

hay JT whud u do with that Answer S/A that you got from me? its 430 size
430 and 250 have same size inlet for muffler on these...the one you gave me when slid on wont meet up with a mount hole, too short...mounts perfect on my 84 250 tho! when that gets completed it be on there buddy. i really think thats what its for

I've two of these presently, one on my '87 WR430 and one on my '96 WXE360. They are a bit pricy but very much worth it. I had Kelly send a throttle, cable and carb so install is super simple. No hassle tuning, bikes idle forever without loading up, super linear throttle response, increased fuel economy; cures whatever ills you have. I highly recommend them.

cures all your ills, what about mumps :D

This has almost turned into an 87 430 thread! Cool. The 430 deserves thread of its own.
Back to the original post...
Does anyone know if Dynoport is still around and making pipes for the 87 430? Or do we have to hunt for one like justintendo?

[just checked the Dynoport web site, the 87 430 exhaust is listed as a product]

i only purchased from ebay as it was a good deal and saw it on a search. i will likely buy a silencer straight from them..

heres an idea of the sparky one from my 360. sounds reeeaaallly good...not very loud either. i would imagine their 430 version would be similar?

Looks good. Probably the same, nuthin' fancy.
Thanks.
BTW, looks like your 430 has blue water hoses and a white spring in the Ohlins shock.
Did you re-spring the shock? Stiffer I would guess?

Dyno ports are works of art ! This one is for my 87 430 CR. I bought it new bout 7 years ago. Thought the front brace was cool. I have them on my 87 250 WR, 91 WXE 250 . I did also have one on a 94 360 WXC. Power so much better then stock pipe. The only other pipe that maybe better is a Up-Tite.

about that front brace, my brother works for NASA and on our last ride we were standing at the back of my truck and my 360 DynoPort pipe was laying there, one of his friends from work saw it and commented on that brace, he felt it was not a good idea, his qualifications, welding inspector for flight approved work, i.e. shit they launch
not really sure why it is there myself :excuseme:

it is likely to dampen a vibration that leads to a crack. mine was cracked in that area and the brace was removed..hard to say...i have never seen another pipe with one there tho..

yes and yes. when this chassis had a 250 in it, i installed chinese ebay silicone hoses. theres a thread here about em, have been happy with them!
the spring is stiffer and sagged for my 230lb geared up body, it is actually from a wp shock off a 91 wrk250..

Had it on my 430 for a couple years before I did a nuts and bolts restoration on it. I don't see any cracks or start on it. Look trick. I figured the way a 430 shakes it was not a bad idea. All the other Dyno Ports did not have the brace but none of them shake like a 430.

Sorry photos not that great its dark here in Ohio. Just my camera phone tonight. You can see Dyno Ports on 87 250 WR and the 91 WXE.
