• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Right on, got a sound clip of 1 of your 510s at idle? Or does it sound the same as stock?
At idle they sound stock. The difference is in the performance. George's cam feels similar to the Power Up cam Honda offered for their XR600. It delivers increased bottom and mid range with a little more rev on top. I also run Up Tite pipes on both of my 510's so that probably plays into the performance gains as well...

how good was that! plenty of comp no clouds of smoke like my 510:mad: sounds crisp...hopefully no water and oil pouring out! you need to replace that rear tyre, its a bit of a slick !!

Tire is done, waiting on a air filter, cutch cable and front fender from Phil.
Hope to ride it a little next weekend.

love the sound of the twin pipes..i know they are heavier than single and are somewhat pointless but i love the look and sound....im not usually like that on many things and like running whatever works for singles/duals etc..but gotta keep the twins on a 510!

Washed it up and pulled the motor.
Inserts and pivot axle are just fine, tight in the cases.
Swing arm bearings need a repack, still roll nice and not dry lol
Pulled the clutch cover and the cam chain is tight, my 87 had slack on both sides.
This bike was crashed and put away with low use, stuff like the drum has no wear and its easy to wear out a drum.
Look how mint the swing arm looks with a few wipes.
