  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TE310 Rekluse install issue...

Husqvarna
AA Class
Writing to see if anyone has come across the same problem...

-I went to intall the rekluse basket, using the supplied lock-washer. Tightened the nut to perscribed torque (50-60lbs) and washer began to spin, sheering off the locks. Called rekluse, told them about the problem and they immediately sent a new washer (denying ever hearing about an issue like this). Same problem with second washer. However, I stopped torquing the nut before the locking tabs sheared off. My only fear is that I never did hit the 50lbs mark on my torque wrench.
The rekluse supplied lock washer is also a bit confusing. They use a 'universal' washer, so it is designed for various sizes of bolts. Well, on the TE310, the inside washer diameter is much larger than the bolt...barely making contact with the nut. I'm no engineer, but this design seems flawed.

Let me know what you guys think....thanks.

Same thing happened to me. I didn't call Rekluse though, so they didn't hear about mine. I then used the Husky lock washer. It has been a while but I think I Had to grind down one of the ears to get it to fit the recluse basket. It has worked fine.

I ended up using the stock washer that is certainly ill-designed for our bikes...that being said, the rekluse is fantastic. I have only about 80miles on it, but it has definitely bailed be out more than a few times. It's hard to describe, but it makes the bike run more like a 450. I run the 47 rear sprocket...which is not great for tight single track or hill climbs, but the addition of the rekluse makes it pretty good with the ability to lug the bike in situations where it would normally stall. I don't know if all that makes sense, but I highly recommend it for those with less-than-pro riding ability.

I bought the whole kit from a CH member and saved a few hundred dollars…you will need everything including the adjustable slave cylinder. Even at full price, I think the addition is worthwhile.

Im not positive...but if your bike runs a hydraulic clutch, adjustments to the rekluse are made via the slave. If the bike has a regular clutch, i think you take the clutch cover off to adjust the rekluse. im basing this information on the videos ive seen on the rekluse website.

I have a rekluse on my 13' but didn't get the adj. slave. I still have to open it up to make adjustments. My last race, a mile in the clutch was slipping and the free play was way over the 1/8" its supposed to be. Having the adj.slave in that situation would have be nice....not $200 nice though.

I have had the Rekluse on two 310 now first was the 2011 did 4500 km with it had no problems with the lock washer or the adjustment by taking the cover off. When I upgraded to the 310R I swap the Rekluse from my old bike to the new bike had all sorts of problems with the adjuster so I got onto Rekluse and they told me about the new slave cylinder and you also have to change the pressure plate center adjuster to fixed center. I fitted up the slave cylinder and pressure plate now all ok I have 600 km on the new bike I luv the Rekluse you can just have fun riding with out stalling in all sorts of conditions. I have been in big rocky creeks and steep hills you just put the bike in second gear and plough through. Best aftermarket bit I have fitted.

what problems were you seeing? mine is a exp 1 off an older 310 and i have only adjusted it once so far in 4 rides. I do get alot of chatter, but also dont have the anti vibration washers.

The main problem I had was the center adjuster nut bottom out on the pressure plate before it had pushed the clutch actuator push rod all the way home so if you followed the adjustment instructions of turning the center nut until it went firm then turn it one turn plus two ticks it was actually lifting the pressure plate away from the clutch plates so on the clutch lever I had no free play gain and. The clutch slipped. Once I fitted the new center nut that comes with the adjustable slave and I add an extra thick thrust washer under the nut fitted new slave cylinder it adjusted up no problems and I have 900 km now with no slipping and haven't had to make any adjustments.

Interesting, on mine when I noticed the free play gain when in neutral and revving it was much greater than 1/8" I turned the center but in and got the same issue of the clutch seperating. I actually had to turn the but out from where it was originally to set the 1/8" free gain correctly. Seems ok now and holding its settings...chatter is less, but still throws me off when I hear it.

Thinking of asking Santa for a Rekluse this year. I have a 2012 TE310 so what parts are required to do a full install? I need to put together a parts list to give to the wife so she can order it without too much confusion. where is a good supplier in the US as well? Sorry for the hijack.

I got mine directly from Rekluse. I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else.

This is what you need.

The best thing is go onto the Rekluse web site then go by brand and model the updated kit comes with the adjustable slave cylinder in the kit. I think the adjustable slave cylinder is worth the extra cost as adjustment is much easier as there is no need to remove the clutch cover anymore.

Ordered the Rekluse core exp Monday. Did anyone here try using the Rekluse clutch basket too? They tried selling me one but I want to at least try the Husky basket first to see if I have chatter or not. Rekluse states the Huskey baskets are sloppy on the tolerances and move around causing the chatter. I hope my Husky basket was made on a Wednesday... I really don't want to spend another $250 on top of $899:thumbsdown:

Please post on the install and review afterward. I'm considering going that route. It would be nice to have the benefit of your experience given we have the same bike. Thanks in advance.
