  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 Husqvarna TE310 ECU Upgrade...

Thanks - info from users vs. info from sales.

Will look into cost of travel to/from dealer (I moved after purchase and no close dealers w/ appropriate computer). Or see if I can convince one of them to ship me the computer/software to do the flash myself. My fear is also that I may bring the redhead to a dealer, see the yellowhead bikes and leave with a new one....
Send your ECU to Zip Ty.

There is hose couplings from the tank to the injector. I have a 2012 so I do not know if the red heads are a little different but I remove the injector end of the couplings fist before I lift the tank. On the 2012 and earlier models the plastic tank elbow can snap if you put any kind of pressure on it while removing it.

Also they may have updated the Philips heads to hex head bolts. I have not changed my injector out (min came with the 12 hole) but it looks like they are hex heads on mine.

OK guys I did the swap today went smooth as butter first off the phillips screwdriver needed for the injector is no special screwdriver simply a Craftsman #3 works just fine and very solid fit mine came out very easy and I reused them with no trouble. (see pics). The only area of this up grade I was nervous was that little plastic elbow at the rear of the fuel tank I removed mine from the throttle body and lifted the tank up to guide the fuel line out with no trouble and the reverse to reinstall. I could see how it could break very easily a second person for this part would make it way easy! I have done this up grade in conjunction with removing the spot welded baffle in the OEM pipe I believe the exhaust systems are made by Arrow so that's already a high end exhaust maker no need to blow big bucks on an FMF etc. (I had a Titanium Arrow on a crotch rocket once I think it was $1500). The bike is noticeably cleaner running almost everywhere its winter here in Canada so the 'test ride' was limited to 10 minutes, warmish weather is predicted for the next couple days maybe a better ride might happen! Thx for the input on this thread a little guidance can save a guy lots of headaches!

Ya I did, I got my stuff used with a 100% money back..but it all works good! Great upgrade I'm surprised how good it runs in comparison to the other setup I wished I would have tried it with just the injector being upgraded I'm willing to bet that's what makes the 'big' difference! :)

Glad you got it sorted. We were trying to steer you in the right direction and it looks like you did good:applause: Enjoy the bike:cheers:

Just stick that TE ECU back in. ;)

On 2nd thought don't. I don't think you would have been happy without the TXC ECU or a Power Commander.

Thanks! I pre fitted a #3 and it seemed to fit great.

What did you remove to access it?

Like the engine note, seems cleaner and a bit deeper.

Thanks, I agree I cant wait for some snow to leave so I can really do some long clean pulls with it sounds so good..BTW that's the stock exhaust I just removed the baffel that's spot welded in the end pipe about half way down. Requires popping all the rivets out of the pipe end not the cap end and dismantle it drill out spot welds re-rivet together..DONE converted to a TXC pipe more or less..LOL :)

I finally managed to get the subframe off after about 5 hours of work to get to that point. Removing the injector is another story. I used a #3 and one came off easily. The other stripped like it was plastic. Some drunken Italian torqued it but good.

I removed all but the cables off the throttlebody and I think I can get an ez out on it. I have hex head bolts ready to replace them.

If you're planning on this upgrade, save your self loads of time and pay the shop to do it.

Just squirt a little Kroil on the stuck screw and let it sit for an hour, then use a hammer and small chisel to tap the screw loose. Piece of cake.

Won't work. The screw head is stripped. EZ out is the only way this puppy is ever coming out. Or drilling and tapping if that doesn't work.

Take the chisel and hold it at an angle agains the edge of the screw head with the cutting edge facing towards the left so when you hit it with the hammer it will apply force counter clockwise (lefty loosey). Give it a few light taps so the sharp edge of the chisel bites into the screw head, then give it one good whack and it will come loose. Works like a charm.

Squirt some Kroil on it first and go have a beer or two before going at it again and it will come out even easier. There isn't any loctite on the screws, but galvanic corrosion can cause them to stick. The Kroil will wick between the screw and the fuel rail and loosen things up.

You all suck. I've had this Injector/ECU for months, we need more people to talk about how easy it is lol. I'm diving into it tomorrow :). There's always a race weekend or time to ride now I'm nervous about it lol. As far as a TPS reset, what are your shops charging you? An hour?
