You are sure your autodecomp is working 100% right?
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Just got my TE250 back from T&C.
They replaced the starter motor but he's not sure the problem is fixed long term.
Eric said he is expecting a TSB on this issue from the factory soon.
Hi Rich - I spoke with Eric a couple weeks ago and he mentioned he had a bike in the shop with the same issue as mine...I guess you were it! he told me the same thing about waiting to hear from the factory. The new starter motor worked for a few months on mine before it started developing the same issues again. I just hope they get this figured out before riding season starts again (although given the amount of snow we've had in the NE it could be awhile...)
See u soon!
Ruben
I've ridden mine twice in the cold for about 20minutes and noticed once it was warm the starter was barely starting the bike.
I don't have a good feeling about this.
Pls let me know what he tells you.
I sense he really wants to help us.
Well as you know I have been chasing the starter issue also. Two nights ago I started up the bike with e-start and started right away, let it run 10 minutes and shut it off and tried to restart. Guess what no start not suprizing anymore. So I took starter out and disassemled the entire assembly. What I found out is all the plastic that is attached to the armiture was all flaking off and was gummed up around the armiture and the magnet. I took all the loose plastic off with a pick and razor blade and blew it out with compressed air. Than i took off the gear that bolts onto the end of the worm gear and ran the backside of the gear on some emerycloth, about 20 strokes. Reassemble the starter and put back into the bike tonight. It started right up as normal on a cold start, ran for about 5 minutes shut off and started right backup. Yes!! started it backup let it run for about another 10 minutes and the temp ran up to 206 degress with my Trail Tech Vapor and the fans kicked in. Shut the bike off and restarted it right away and it sounds like the bike turns over faster now. I think I have corrected MY starter problems. Hope this will help others out there that are having the same issue has me. I'm excited now!! 2010 250TXC
