Just installed a pro circuit nature friendly silencer, and a fast by ferraci clutch basket on my cr125.
It is now about 100x quieter than the wide open race pipe with no packing.
Problem is now at idle I can hear a distinct grinding "ratcheting" noise from the engine.
I asked a friend he said the big end bearing is toast! Asked another; he said its the powervalve rattling and its normal. His kdx sounded like that since forever ago.
Starts first kick and runs perfect everytime. Without the choke fires right up and ready to rock.
BUT, I do not want to take it out way in the hills (2 hour drive by truck) if this thing is going to shit the bed?
Its kind of like the noise the kick starter makes when it retracts, but slower and not very pronounced.
Any ideas? Should I just tear it down? I had the top end off and everything was in spec and it had I think around 180 on the compression with 3-4 fast kicks so I do not think the reeds are broken. Rings were in spec, no slop in the rod or anything. Ran fantastically since the day I bought it.
This 900$ dirt bike is up to nearly 2000$ I would hate to throw more at it at this point.
