As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
I just checked the throttle assembly on my WR. It's fine.![]()
I've had the throttle stick on another bike.I think 11 was a good year!
MINE appears to be the good one. however my cable at the very end where it connects to th throttle tube has quite a kink in it. could be the cause of my troubles. could some one post pics of proper cable routing? thanksWithout the "ridge" the cable can get hung up between the housing Wall and the lower lip of the white wheel. I have had 2 of my friends already have this happen to them. Get it fixed. The white wheel is also modified with a lip that meets the ridge.
This is the KTM recall info and thanks to Jeff Slavens from Slavens Racing for posting the picture to make it easy to see what the deal is.

i like to have just a little free play, a mm or 2. i think thats what happened to me. i took all the free play out. that can be a problem as well. when ur tired your hand can blip the throttle on its own. nice to have a little playGuys, this ain't a big deal.
I had my throttle stick open on my WR a few times when it was brand new. Turns out there was too much slack in the cable and it would "fall off" the white plastic roller when the throttle was fully closed.
Took some slack out, and a few hundred miles and many rides later it hasn't done it again.
Just adjust your throttle cables correctly and stop worrying!
