• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC 17 TE 150

Ok, it is cool but I think you need to step away from the bling.....go ride!

That's nother R&D carb. What I noticed in Carb, is that a gasket had slipped and was blocking a low circuit hole and was sucking air.

I won't bolt that one on to test, till next weekend. Plus RB Designs is machining two slides for me and those won't be back till end of week.

We broke both bikes out yesterday. Was still muddy from rain all week. I been itching to compare the two.

Sons FC 250 is at 46hp, with FMF exhaust. So, we were matching the TE 150 up to it.

He said he had to admit, TE 150 is faster than his. He said, it's best responsive two stroke he's been on and didn't need the clutch. He doesn't know how bike could get any better, in any area. He said, hard to believe it's 100cc under mine.

First time we ran VP fuel in his and it ran great. His ran really crisp.

So, conservatively we think the TE 150 is at 47 HP and non conservative at 48 HP.

There are two areas yet, I think I can get more out of her.

Any chance you guys can tell me where you ordered the blue power valve spring from? Looks like pretty much everywhere online is out of stock. The part number from the manual seems to trace back to 2001-2003 bikes.

Online is no good. Best thing is to call many Ktm dealers direct and see if the have any in stock.

They are supposedly all on back order.

I've also been looking for one for a couple months now. I've contacted a lot of online KTM parts places and haven't turned one up yet. I've even contacted European KTM parts houses and been told by them the part is not available over there either. If you find any please buy one for me and I'll pay you back.

Finally found a blue one! Darin pointed me at a couple places to try starting with Steve or Andrew at Letko in Olathe KS. They didn't have one but offered to send me a green one and red one for free. I didn't take him up but what an offer from a shop that doesn't know me from Adam and half way across the US. Next up was Malcom Smith in California. They didn't have one but their system showed one at Honda of Tulsa in OK and then gave me the phone number. Called Tulsa and have one on the way. I intend to measure it and see if I can't find a stock spring from a spring maker with the same specs. What a great community the KTM/Husky crowd is.

Very nice bike you've built Dartyppyt, I've followed the whole thread, and you are a real craftsman. Both you and Wallybean have gone with an RK Tek head insert and I would like to do the same. Do you have any advice for ordering other than supplying my deck height and riding style/locations etc.? Anything you would do differently? I've got a xc-w 150, jd jet kit on the tmx 38 and a v force 4 reed block. Thanks

Thanx for compliments!

The head, is all Wallybean's work and he can chime in on that. Mr Bean knows his stuff!

Just give Kelsey a call. He will want exactly what you said and also what fuel you are using. He will then cut it for your needs.

Most of the snow missed here but other areas got hammered. The shoulder is coming along slow. Hope to start therapy this week.
