  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc '14 CR125 to Woods Weapon

firedog - There's a number of people racing the CR125/144 in woods of Missouri. In the M.O.R.E. series, there's a pronominal kid, I think he turns 14 this year. Anyway, he'll be racing his in the AA class. His is stock engine wise as far as I know, might have a pipe on it, and definitely has a rekluse, then an IMS dry break tank on it. My brother has the WR and it works really well for him, though for me, at 200 lbs, I much prefer a 250/300/360 for the especially gnarly trails. But for the more open and flowy trails like in your back yard at St Joe Park, that thing would be a hoot.

TBT in Springfield is pretty popular and knows the terrain, if you're looking at having someone dial in the suspension for you. I'm pretty sure he's done more than a few Huskys.

That's what I am in the process of doing to my Mikuni on my 125 WR. I have already drilled the drain plug and adjusted the float. I have my RM needle ready to install, and the smaller pilot jet too. But my bike is actually running pretty nicely right now.

I'm gonna give the Minuki an honest try and would like to try this setup. Would you mind sharing your specs & mods, please?
I understand about drilling the cap for fuel flow, but not sure about hole size or how many to drill. And I assume float mod is to set to the correct height?

Sorry about the thread jack, but the jetting chat has pretty quite lately and I'm not looking to chase my tail on this carb. Like the last one. And the one before that. I have a pwk36 sitting around, but I really want to see how this carb works when setup right. thanks!

nice bike firedog!

The Mikuni runs good when it comes to its optimum point the problem that i had with it that it runs good in the morning and it turns to sh*** in a few hours on the trail just because there is a humidity change of a storm brewing
it went so extreme that I've been changing main jets and needle positions on the trail
quite annoying if you ask me

but that is now history

Four, 1/16" holes evenly spaced right about here...

But that still doesn't keep the jetting from changing every time you sneeze.

Later,

unfortunately, same story for me with the Mikuni. perfect one moment... garbage once weather changed later in the day. and mine is Hall's modded + various RM needles. super frustrating. Lectron cured all that!

congrats on the new ride, firedog. ultraFun little bikes!

I can't help wondering why the 125 is such a well kept secret with so many new non-current bikes on show room floors. I hope to sample the magic sometime soon also.

By the way that first photo was increadably sharp, should be on a brochure cover.

gwilliams107-I ended up getting a set of CV4 silicone hoses off ebay for $85, here's a link:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CV4-Silicon...Parts_Accessories&hash=item4175975557&vxp=mtr

Also sent my 144cc cylinder to MaxPower RPM for porting. Asked them to just clean up and polish the ports, don't want any increase in top end at the sacrifice of low and mid range.

Been on the computer and phone for hours looking for the best deals on the best parts. I'm almost convinced to just buy a Keihin with JD jetting from HusqvarnaWorld.com instead of messing with the Mikuni.

That's it for now, until some parts show up.

Ugh! I ordered the Samco hose kit with new clamps last week and that was $200 bucks! At my age I should know patience pays off! Sadly these toys make me feel like a kid so I will blame it on that. I'm leaning toward the Lectron but need to get the suspension sorted out first.

i'm starting to really dig those '14 plastics. the graphics are embedded, right? would they fit my '09 and can we order from a dealer? i have a note in to Hall's, will try my local dealer later.

The shroud graphics are embedded, but the side panel graphics are not. And they do look nice!
I haven't actually swapped the plastics, but with both the 09' and 14' bikes sitting side-by-side the plastic pieces look identical.

thanks. so the front graphic on the side panels (stripes) isn't embedded? from pics it looks like that is but not the rear stickers for model designation.

i was about to pull the trigger on a graphics kit but i'm tired of replacing decals. they look good for like two weekends.

Correct. The tank shroud graphics are embedded, but not the rear side panels, which, like you said, have minimal graphics on them anyway.

My 09 came with peeling graphics from the crate. They didn't stand a chance.....

The graphics on the front part of the side panels are embedded. See the pics of my bike, everything left on except the "CR125" is embedded.

gwilliams-that's funny about being a kid, my wife said I looked like a kid at Christmas when the parts guy @ Hall's said he had a WR tank in stock and I ordered it!

The CV4 hoses came today via UPS, very nice, supple like a new wife :).

Parts are starting to trickle in. Painted the 144 kit head in "Ford Red" automotive paint. Still waiting on the cylinder to come back from porting. Need to get the FMF Fatty and to decide on the carb. I'll try the Mikuni 1st. If I can't get it where I like I'll decide between the Lectron and the Keihin PWK. Both get good reviews here on CH.
