• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

07 SM610 vs. 2000 610TE Left Kicker

Husqvarna
I have a 2007 SM 610 and a 2000 610 TE for dirt duty.

I race CMRA and have been wanting to get my tard on the track and was going to build my SM610 into doing race duty as well as street.

I have been trying to sell my 610 TE because it's too big for the trail riding I do. I haven't had any luck though...

I know a lot of it has to do with gearing and surface, but my TE feels way faster than the SM, and I have been thinking maybe convert my TE to SM and race it.

The TE is a left kicker, no battery, and chain is on the right.

Can I pull the wheels and brakes off my SM for use on the TE? Can I just run the rear wheel backwards to put the chain on the right?

Am I wrong in thinking my left kicker makes more power than the SM?

Crazy silly thoughts.... the guys in first and second overall are both on Aprilias, 550 and a 450.

The 2007 SM is going to be Injection, so first questions would be have you done the Power up modifications ?
Anti Smog Removal, Resistor, JD Tuner.
If not, it runs like crap and will be noticeably different. Also I had issues with my fuel pump and caused the bike to be down on power.
Get a Dyno to get a base reading and work from there.

I don't think you could swap the wheels round like that. I believe there will be spacing issues for the sprockets / brakes.
If you have a couple of crates, why not take the wheels off and measure them up.

My bike must be an 06, its Carbed.

2000 has unknown mods. What i can tell is the following:
Ducati Ignition
Aluminum Intake Piece
Full D&D exhaust, that sounds horrible

2006 has:
Full LeoVince
K&N cone filter intake mod
Rejetted

Well, I started swapping the rear stuff today.

The rear axle is a smaller diameter on the TE versus the SM. That will be an easy fix.

The rear brake and sprocket line up perfectly.

I was gonna take it for a spin but the chains are drastically different length because the TE has a huge rear sprocket.

You may be able to just put the 2000 spacers in the 2006 rear wheel and run the 2000 axle in the 2006 wheel.

Be careful with the sprocket spacing...the 2006 has a slightly outbound sprocket mount... I think the 2000 610 uses the 2 stoke wheels...they were narrower on the sprocket mount.

Not surprised the 2000 is faster...Husky used to race a 630 based on the old motor in about 2004-6

Hey Coffee. Eric here. I just bought that 610 sm conversion from Brandt. I may have to take it to Cresson and race it. I need to get working on getting it legal for the CMRA. Maybe I will see you on the grid.
