ZipTy Shark Fins are recognized by the top Factory and privateer racers around the world for being the BEST rear rotor protection you can get for your bike. Factory Husqvarna and KTM won't use anything else. If that's not enough to convince you, here's a couple thousand words, by none other than Graham Jarvis himself... GrJarvisSharkFin.1.jpg

Accept NO SUBSTITUTE! There is only one ZipTy Racing Shark Fin.

Constructed with 78,000psi Zicral, light like titanium, and tougher than A56 steel. It's also the only design with a replaceable fin. The other guys use lower grade aluminium alloys that are easier and cheaper to machine, but the trade off is a weaker product that just won't stand up to the abuse. The other brands are just cheap knock offs.

Material Properties Data: 7075-T6 Aluminum. 7075 has been sold under various trade names including "Zicral", "Ergal", and "Fortal Constructal".
    History

The first 7075 Aluminum Alloy was developed in secret by a Japanese company, Sumitomo Metal, in 1943. 7075 was eventually used for airframe production in the Imperial Japanese Navy.
    7075 aluminium alloy Uses

7000 series alloys such as 7075-T6 alloy. Also known as "Zicral" are often used in transport applications, including marine, automotive and aviation, due to their high strength-to-density ratio. Their strength and light weight is also desirable in other fields. Rock climbing equipment, bicycle components, inline skating-frames and hang glider airframes are commonly made from 7075 aluminium alloy. Hobby grade RC models commonly use 7075 and 6061 for chassis plates.
One interesting use for 7075 is in the manufacture of M16 rifles for the American military. In particular high quality M16 rifle lower and upper receivers as well as extension tubes are typically made from 7075-T6 alloy. Desert Tactical Arms, SIG Sauer, and French armament company PGM use it for their precision rifles. It is also commonly used in shafts for lacrosse sticks, such as the STX sabre, and camping knife and fork sets.
Due to its high strength, low density, thermal properties, and its ability to be highly polished, 7075 is widely used in mold tool manufacture. This alloy has been further refined into other 7000 series alloys for this application, namely 7050 and 7020.

Sorry, they aren't available for the Italian bikes any longer. I just checked to see if there were any before replying.

I really wanted one for my 449 too, but there just wasn't enough interest to justify a run so they were never made.

There was interest since 2012. I assume it was only the carrier that was unique but they have the program. So a setup issue. Then a call whether to support the red Huskies. At least everyone here may have bought them. Water over the bridge. Our bikes still ride on, sans ZT shark fins. I know Mike from Alaska still wants one when released ;-)

This is a custom order of the SF115 for your 13-16 FE or 03-16 KTM with the "small" axle.

There was a run of them made for the Italian 2 Strokes (I've got one) but they are all gone. It would require a big group of people to justify another run. Sorry, I wish I had a better answer for ya.

That was years ago from what I know. A few people convinced Ty to make a batch. I know Ajaxauto got 2, one of which I inherited with his 250, and there's a 300 in the classified section with one.

You, myself, and others tried to get Tinken to expand the line for the 4 strokes, but it just never happened. If I could get a list of committed customers who would want them, I will try my best to see if Ty would go for it. 7602 has made runs of discontinued parts if there are enough customers. I'm going to dig through boxes just in case I can find a replacement fin for mine next time I'm there.

Thought maybe this was a quick, recent, on the sly, production run ;) No worries. The 310 may be around awhile so good parts always worth acquiring.
