After reviewing the parts fische for older husky 360 engines from what i can see there doesnt appear to many major differences between the 1997 & 2002 360 bottom end vs the 250 bottom end.

Has anyone attempted to convert a 2009 or similar year WR to a 360?

I think you best bet would be to find a complete bike , take the motor and part out the rest. $1500 would find a good one.

Currently that is the only way forward I think. Cant belive how rare these things are to find in good condition. :(

Yeah, I have the 09 WR300 with kehin carb and race head and need more bottom end pull and top speed. I figure the 360 should help, maybe even more
if I shave the head on it as well ;)

    ...in Australia...

360's are one of the best general trail weapons out there but on any type of transport sections they suck.

The best thing is the 6 cogs.

The biggest change they made from 91 was in 93 when they revised their power valve system and exhaust outlet. Went from huge band to linear through the rev range. Changed the outlet from male female to female male.

    Will be watching your progress.

Be patient, you always find the best deals when you don't need them

Easy swap and I am still confused why Husqvarna doesn't install this tranny into the WR250/300.:excuseme:

I have made this swap in two WR250's and have helped several others make the swap. Pretty straight forward. I haven't done it in a couple of years but it is just a matter of having all the parts.

If not, what about going up a few teeth on the rear sprocket & wacking in a 6 speed 360 transmission?
