Here is a brief report on this E09 dakar 140/80/18 after 2500 km of trails. There are still 6/7 millimeters of tread but I do not like cracks that are forming. How long will it be? 20170706_145919.jpg 20170706_145901.jpg 20170706_145647.jpg

A friend of mine had is crack like that on his KTM 990 R afet about 4000kms. Very soon after the cracks were discovered a whole knob chunked off.

I chose to mount a mitas and because my pegasus had excellent results. With the size 130/80/17 I traveled about 7000 km in 3 years without any problem of abnormal wear. I have a suspicion on the teats of 140/80/18 mounted on you. Maybe this tire has been mounted too soon since its manufacture. Produced the fifteenth week of 2016 and was mounted around the twenty-fourth week of 2016. About 4 months after its manufacture. I knew that the new tires I have to wait several months before being fitted to get the best performance ...... what do you think?

Mounted the same tire on my 630, excellent tire but only lasted 4000km. One season 's worth of riding

It really comes down to the type of terrain and rider you are. I would only get 1500Km out of a duell tyre if really pushing hard on a trip and riding a lot of rocky terrain. To me 4000 on a TE 610/630/SWM650 is pretty good going. I only get 500-600 on my pure dirt bikes and about 6000/8000 on my road bikes

After 13 months and about 3500 km this rubber mitas e09 begins to lose rubber pieces.
    I took a new scorpion rally 140/80/18
Too bad for this mitas I thought it worked for more time 20170706_145616.jpg 20170830_180921.jpg 20170830_181115.jpg

Today replace the old mitas with the scorpion rally 140/80/18 with its 9 canvases, one of which is made of steel.
The mitas has 8 in polyamide and nylon
He easily mounts scorpion and goes without too many forces with the levers (I have thatke 25 cm).
As usual, it was difficult to remove the old mitas from the circle, but in the end maybe I guessed a Chinese move to get it easily.
Dulcis basically wanted to take a curiosity ..... on the weight
The mitas consumed less than 50% weighs 8.7 kg
    The new Scorpion 7.2
Well 1.5 kg less than on a wheel complete with disk rim and crown weighed with the 14.9 kg mitas is not bad.
Naturally fitted new flap and "normal" new room.
After a tiring short turn to lift the wax and check the footprint
In the street it's a bit 'noise of the mitas but it does.
On the dirt road no problem
For the sludge we will see
    Some pictures

Looks like a good bit of kit Rotax. Just replacing my Michelin T63 with another one on my SWM. These are pretty inexpensive, go well in the dirt/mud and are great on the pacement. I liken them to a cross between the Dunlop 606 and the THC80.

I just returned from a little over 2000 miles thru Colorado, New Mexico and Utah, including trail and substantial pavement between riding venues. I was using a new tire to me, Golden Tyre 723, and they held up great. I used a 90/100 on the front. I can see some wear but I'm not near half way thru on the rear. Great traction everywhere, although we didn't get into any serious mud. 'Like 'em!

I also got the rear 140/80/18 karoo extreme
It weighs 7.8 kg so 600 gr more than the previous scorpion rally
The central block is a bit flared in the center probably for a better grip.
Made in germany with the usual red dot on the side.
9 canvases in total, 1 of which in steel. Dot end of 2017 IMG_20190513_184359.jpg IMG_20190513_184028.jpg IMG_20190513_184249.jpg
