I will be arriving sat am...armed with my 310 minus one spoke. .and my pe250...not sure how the pe will run...havent had a chance to test it out...may just go 50' and die..lol
I will also be arriving Saturday AM. The Eckel family will be staying for the duration of Saturday, rain or shine, and as far into the evening as possible before departing. We have a commitment in NJ Sunday morning, so we're going to stretch Saturday as far as we can. Fury1, your PE and my '83 KDX 250 can square off in the "Not Fully Sorted" Grand Prix. I've needed to do a full-on jetting tuning session with it since I resurrected it, but I just haven't had the time or desire. It starts, it runs, but I'm sure it could run better. Oh, and don't forget about my secret mini from a certain boutique Italian manufacturer...
Jake on my '86 250WR and me on the '12 TE250 Husavarna, checking out trail loop for Gathering this weekend.
Thinking of you guys and bummed because I am "grounded" and unable to ride. I hope it is cool and not raining! Hot as Eff here in Smallbany today, cooled off around 6pm, no rain. Do a woods loop for me! Chuck
Great day today for a small band of stalwarts, as many stayed away fearing the weather! A misty rain, with one downpour, as the cold front arrived, but great riding and good times for those attending. We had some clearing and a rainbow at the end of the day. Looks like good weather for tomorrow!
Husky Gathering regular Shane Cremmen (aka "Maico Man") had a little "stress" last year, so we surprised him with a pair of new Kenda tires.
Just Joe and I left to do the packing up. Small but great group and lots of fun! To this year and the next!
Damn I wish I could have been there. No doubt I would have had a better time than what today turned out to be.
I want to thank everybody for the great weekend I had for this intimate gathering this year! Note to Norm, sorry for causing you any concerns. Wish I did not have to leave early but there is along drive back to VT! BTW I thought that was Willis there but could not be sure because he had sunglasses on,….so hello to him as well. Great people and a great time. And to Joe, I will and do not listen to the DEAD! Maybe I will help next time to roast corn for the group! Thanks for the gifts and fun.
Thanks for coming! Good group and great fun. Don't mind me, just the Mother Hen.... I just wish we had a leftover 2012 Gathering shirt for you, with "The Wolf" Mika Ahola on it. Mika, Mika, Mika!

I guess we have a choice for the new Band of Brothers name since our scenario was not on St Crispins day. And since Sept 6th was the day in history that in 1915, a prototype tank nicknamed Little Willie rolls off the assembly line in England and Sept 7 was the day in 1813, the United States gets its nickname, Uncle Sam. The name is linked to Samuel Wilson, a meat packer from Troy, New York, who supplied barrels of beef to the United States Army during the War of 1812. We may have a choice? Or maybe combine them? Both apprpriate....Tank has no fear, will go through anything, tough to destroy, puts fear into its opponents, and does not quit. Uncle sam was from NY, looks great, imidating, wants you, and is recognized around the world.
Nor care I who doth go to GNCC’s It yearns me not to wait in endless sign up lines Such outward things dwell not in my desires. Rather proclaim it, Foley, through my host, That he which hath no stomach to face potential sprinkles of rain, Let him depart; his trailer shall be made, And DVD’s of epic riding put into his home; We would not ride in that man’s company That fears his fellowship to ride with us. This day is call’d the day of Husky Gathering He that outlives this day, and rides so well Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam’d, And rouse him at the name of Husky Gathering. He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbors, And say “To-morrow is Husky Gathering Day.” Then will open his garage and show his bikes, And say “These bikes I rode on Husky Gathering day.” But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that rides epic trail with me Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile, even on a KTM This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in the North East now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That rode with us upon Husky Gathering day
