449/511 Quick Throttle? Anyone using one? Where did you get it?

I'm reasonably convinced that the next performance mod needs to be a quick turn throttle. I've tested my own riding and found it was nearly impossible to have the throttle 80-100% open for anything more than a second or two because of the hyper-flexing of the wrist.

Soooo. Anyone using a quick throttle?

There's a relatively cheap quick turn throttle thread in the Supermoto section of this forum or you can go to www.g2ergo.com and see if they have one. Love the G2 quick turn for my 250

I got a G2 on my TE310. Works great, takes a bit to get used to but I'd never go back.

My quick action throttle is from Domino, it comes with all the gubbins and 2 new grips. You will need to play with the adjusters in the throttle housing.

    It cost £38

I used the throttle off my hypermotard and bolted it on pull only. It snaps back and the throttle response with my other mods is better than ANY bike I have ever been on. It is really stellar.

huskylove... So, there's a Ducati dealer in Concord. If I wanted to purchase a hypermotard throttle would I just order one? Do I need more info than that?

Me too. I get bummed when I hear of people not liking the 449/511 because it does not run good. It sure can, in fact perfect. Its in there.

Now I think I need to do the throttle mod like you guys are. I want one that keeps the first 1/4 the same then ramps up to wide open with less rotation.

"Domino Universal Single Cable Throttle Control with Grips"

It takes a bit of work to make fit but once its done is awesome. I used the stock hypermotard cable but ran it in front of the triple clamp then down. I could show you if you care to see sometime. (if you are local that is)

I ended up modifying the stock unit. It's a 1/4 turn throttle now. I haven't tested it yet so... it may end up being too quick. I'll update after a quick ride later, but I won't be doing a dirt ride for another 4 days. It's the dirt ride I'm a little worried about.

Quick update: A quick turn throttle is a GREAT mod. No kidding! It's amazing how much more perceived power the bike has. And there's no noticed problem of throttle control at slow speed. I've used it for about 5 rides now and it's a big plus.

Researching the G2 stuff it seems like the 50 300D quick turn is noted for the 511. Can anyone confirm this will fit.
G2 just lists Husky 4strokes (all models...)

Emailed and got a reply from G2 yesterday. Although they have huskies on their web site I was advised to order the KTM 4stroke option. Can't wait to try it out. Should be just the ticket for our trip to West Virginia next month.

    I assume it's the same/similar throttle assembly.
Have to see what happens when it arrives I guess.
    Will update whe it does.

Received the G2 quick turn today. Removed OEM part and installed new tube. Looks very well made. No binding and no modifications required. Full throttle is now 1/4 turn.

Have you ridden the bike yet? Interested to hear some opinions on throttle feel.

No, and won't for a few weeks....
I don't think it will be terribly harsh compared to stock going by eye.

Heading to work in the am for 3 weeks but will be heading to Hatfield McCoy in West Virginia for my next 2 weeks off.
I will have a report on this and other products upon my return.

I've got the G2 as well on my 511. Love it. Big difference in throttle response. Well worth it.
