I've been riding this last week-end , not satisfied with
the standard carb spécifications for the 430 ae motor.
Idle too high and mid to full throttle seems to be too rich.
What are your tuning carb for 430 AE motor ?

    Venturi: 38
    Main jet: 430
    Needle jet: R2
    Idling jet: 40
    Needle pos: 3 from top
    Air jet: 2.0
    Needle: 6DH 20
Airscrew: 1 turn from bottom position
    Throttle: 2.5
    200 m above sea level

Hi Michel, does the throttle hit the stop when you let go of the twist grip, I've had to file the slide on occasion to achieve this.
By the way the springs are working fine , they are in the 360 I built over the winter, four scrambles no breakages so far!!

After 5 minutes to try to understand what you mean, I've understand.
    I'm happy about your springs.
How much riding time for the 4 scrambles ?

I would guess 4 scrambles would be 4-5 hours including practice.

Michel, do you have springs to fit the original 1978 1st gear ?

I have 13x48 like on all my manual bikes.
But with a 3 auto gears , it is too long.
    Must change it.
What do auto riders have ?

Gearing should be 11x53. That is stock.

MY 430 is in the shed, I will drag it out and count the teeth tonight, she rides perfect, the only reason I do not use her more is the fact I have no spares at all and not to sure where to find them.

Good answer, I gave up jetting my bikes a year ago. I've been running the SmartCarb. Similar the a Lectron just taken a step further with no external venting. Awsome smooth power through the rev range and it comes down to an idle quickly without surging or popping, very important on an auto. Best of all vastly inproved fuel economy. I can do 3 hours at race pace in a hare scrambles with the stock 430ae 9 litre tank. I am extremely happy with my setup.

We really do need a seperate section for Autos on this forum.

    Best of luck,
    Paul.

I've tried both, a 53 and 54 and prefer the 53. Comes down to rider preference.
Your bike looks good,..... clean or dirty!

Try cutting your slide to 3.0, that will clean up the bottom.
Go to a 166/Q-8 needle jet
The rest of jetting looks ok.
You will never get much until you get rid of that muffler.
Core diameter is too small needs to be 1 1/8-1 1/4".
    She can't breathe.
I see your in France your noise laws are off the scale. A mouse fart is too loud.

As you can see I utilized mostly Husqvarna parts to make this. The bracket with positive stops was the only thing I had to fabricate.
The spring you will recognize keeps it always engaged, with a lever on the handle bar to disengage while starting.

    Best Regards,
    Paul

Great pics , thanks ! Do you have a decompressor ?
If so, it makes 2 levers to push on to start the engine.

    Grandsons 50cc KTM/Beta is 19mm stock muffler.
Just saying choked mufflers make run hot, hard to jet , no performance.
