I used to swap with my dad. I had a yz250f and he had a 520sx. I had just upgraded from a xr250 and his bike scared the crap out of me lol. The front end was really light too, the 520 felt lighter while it was moving. Atleast now I'm smart enough to not hop on big bores and act like their 250's . All the mags talk about how the 449 is tractor like like old 4 strokes and after spending a ton of time on it, I love it. They can keep that hard hitting 450 and give me the torque monster that hides my shortcomings
I find the 511 kinda splitting the old school tractor motors and new school CFR type motors perfectly. Snappy but not to much and tractor like but more eager. I really like the power spread on that 449/511 and find it a really nice balance.
Are you sure? Looking at the parts fiche for 2014 KTM 500XCW and 2014 Husqvarna FE501, the crank, rod and piston are the same pn between the 2 bikes. The Husaberg FE501 has a different pn. Maybe the KTM got the updated parts as well?
No, you're right, they updated the 500 exc this year with the 501's engine. The difference is the throttle body and the exc has the SAS emissions.
Probably useless info but here are couple conversions of your AUD to pesos and USD at todays' exchange rates... Might be funny to look at these numbers in a few yrs ... 536,457.28 PHP 11,835.98 USD

Thanks Russ and I certainly hope these bikes have the transmission ratios ~everyone here wants and that new, bigger tank ~everyone here as always wanted ... All will be well on the Husky homefront if these 2 items have been addressed ...
Yes I realize the AU price is more. Still I think I will need to be in another tax bracket before I drop 10K on a new bike. Heck I recently find myself liking the 02-04 bikes again.
Can't disagree... US retail prices for Italian Huskys, were always lower than anywhere else in the World.
