• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The Factory Flyer (WR300 / 83) will be going to the old MZ factory to ride in the Zschopau Enduro next week! I will be picking up a couple of riding buddies to make the long drive from the South West of England, via the Dover Channel Tunnel and East all the way to East Germany. Rob Poulton will ride his Maico GS, Nigel Heath a 510 Husky and Me, my number one WR300. Hopefully we will have a good time and try to persuade some more European riders to come and ride the UK's premier Vinduro the 'Hot Trod' in Northumberland later this year!

I will try and get some photos along the way....

Good luck.

Loved the photos from your last adventure.....you need a Drift or Go Pro....So we can live out our Vinduro lives through yours:)

How is the 300 idea working out? Will it be commercially available?

The 300's have been breeding!!!

There are two new ones under construction. One is a CR300 that will be on display at the Telford show next year (now that it won't be finished in time for the Farleigh Castle Twinshock MX next month - due to waiting for the cranks to come back from heat treatment).

The other is a new WR300 that will be for use hopefully by the chairman of the ACU (UK governing body of Motorsport) to help publicise Twinshock Enduros in the UK. Also for use at the Hot Trod by the lucky guy who is coming from the USA to ride - as I promised some time back!

I will post a picture shortly...

Regarding 300 kits, Yes I could sell a few, but it is NOT going to be cheap as there are a fair few special parts!!! Let me know if you are genuinely interested and I will see....

510 nearly ready for the German trip next wednesday, lots of midnight oil being burned at the moment. The engine is out of my 86 mono which I used as Clerk of the Course at Doddington last weekend. Just the wiring to sort out for the lights now. See you wednesday lunch at the ferry terminal, can't wait****************************************

It was amazing to see so many real factory bikes from back in the good old days! Also, Harald Sturm (Who was the main man with MZ) was riding - and very well too I may add...

Those BMW twins were real works of art. I am awaiting more pictures.

Andy.
