  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

ZipTy Y FYI option

Is this something that you only need if you ride super tight technical stuff in hot weather - I've never experienced a leak or overheating issue where I live and the type of riding that I do. I have read several posts on this item, but not sure I'm convinced I need it.

This might actually work better, but it's not a "Y"
Blue Tee
If you have a buddy who wants a "T" and you want a "Y", this could save you money.
Buddy kit
Any of these would actually fit easier than the one I used. I had to several "custom" hoses to get ti to fit right.

I have the GFBN one from these guys installed......which ever size one fit the hoses (I don't remember off hand). I used this one on my 06TE450 as well. this for another option.

I just gave Hall's 20 of these to test. T0-12 GFBN (glass filled black nylon). Should solve any over heating issues, without buying an expensive "T" or "Y". They are rated for coolant and automotive applications, and have to be stronger than the polypropelene T's the Husky's come with. Rated up to 400+ degrees.

Although not as light as the nylon or aluminum these potable water fittings are bullet proof being made of brass.
You can pick them up at your local hardware store.
Even a normal 1/2" copper tee fits snug less ribs.

y's flow better then a T..... 8 k for a bike, and your nickle noseing over a 30.00 fitting ??

A 5$ part that works just as good over a 30$ part, sure I'll nickel nose all I can. You must have money growing off of trees.

And as far as the "Y" flowing better.... If your coolant system is properly filled how big of an issue can it be? Good sales pitch but i'm not buying.

And by the way, I ride a 2 stroke so I did the research for my buddies at the shop.

The shop welded the crack, but the crack either was longer than they thought or it immediately crept up a little higher than it was. I just got it back this evening, welded a little higher. That row is staring to look like a slag pile, but if it holds this time all will be well. If not, I think I will have to pawn something and just shell out for a new radiator.

Here's another design of a y (small y) not Y (large Y)type shape- its billet- I don't know if it would work or not:excuseme:- just ran accross it atmotoinnovations
Its got two 17.5mm spigots running into one 19mm spigot...
