• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

yvoshkiro's sm 630 review

oh, i forgot, with the 42 tooth rear sproocket on the 630, how did find top gear doing say......120kph?

thanks Yvoskiro, i constantly use your write up as a constant reference.....
Enrique
hey thanks,
the reason i wrote it all is that, when i was looking for info, there was none!
so if i could help people make it easier in making the right choice...

for he top speed , look at this video :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyQ0fVnSn0k&feature=player_embedded
this is with 42T,
from 3:36 to 3:46 i go trough all gears and shift to 6th when going 7000rpm and 138km/h, so 120 km/h will be like 6000 rpm in 6th gear.

Hi Yvoskiro,

How are you? I'm sorry to bother you again but regarding the sms630, could you please tell me what brand rear sprocket you used? I'm trying to buy one in sydney australia but they keep telling me that they can only source me a genuine one from a husky dealer.

Can you believe that? Husky's got a very small market here in australia. same with mv agusta. ducati on the other hand is really big as well as the given...jap bikes.

thanks again for your input.

I await the "master's wisdom"

regards,
Enrique:notworthy:

Thanks matt!
I'll try and find out their availability here.

Oh, by the way,
a) when you got your wheels powderciated, did
you pull your rim/ spokes/ hub apart & reassembled
it afterwards?

B) are you still running a 150 rear?

Thanks again mate...
Enrique

enrique
