• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

You meet the nicest people on a HUSKY .. WallyBean

Walt stopped by my place last night , had a couple of beers and started my 2-stroke 101 lesson. Helped me put in his trick spring kit and supplied me with some goodies...

Thanks Walt !

I'ts amazing..everyone I meet in this sport/lifestyle has always been a stand up guy who's always willing to help.

Kevin

Pretty cool how we are such a "Close Knit Family"

And can share our knowledge and stories with one another.

Walt sounds like a very unique person who has both to offer.

Just don't mention Chad Reed to him...:lol:

Inside joke!

Kevin,

Thanks, it was great to sit around and shoot the breeze. OBTW, Kevin's 04 125 is brand new. If I had to guess, I would say it has less than 2 hours on it. What a great deal. The boot rash is very minimal and something I would get in an hour of riding tight twisties.

I look forward to hearing how the break in goes for both you and the bike.

Also the Husky community is a great place to be. Good people and great bikes.

Walt

Kevin,

You're absolutely right! Haven't met Walt yet however, have met many folks in this Husky world and haven't regretted a personal introduction yet. I haven't had many civilian friends in my career until discovering this community, pretty awesome bunch of peeps

I got to stop into Tasky's today and met Jeff and his wife for the first time. Great people and what a nice shop with so many goodies. I just don't think you meet anyone in our little corner of the dirt/ds/sm world that isn't willing to help you at the drop of a hat.

That's why my wife always wants to go with me to Tasky's! (1.5 hr drive) Jeff and Jamie are just plain cool.

Hope to meet you too someday, Walt

Ioneater,

Thanks, Unfortunately I am headed back towards Montana tomorrow. To little time for the trip, Hamilton to Boise to Bellingham to Bonners Ferry to Hamilton in 4 days. :banghead:

I hope to make the trip over this year for the demo days and a chance to meet more of the NW family.

Thats one thing I want to do.. go to the Demo Days...Walt let me know when (and If) you go... maybe we can split the ride somehow...

Now off to My Kid's Cubscout camping weekend... talk to you guys later !

I'm gonna throw another vote for wallybean, he helped me sort out my wr360 carb issues, and hooked me up with the parts to do it. Deifinately some good people on two wheels.

Thanks,

I had my 360 out yesterday getting it prepped for riding and I had almost forgotten what that torque was all about. YeeHaw  After spending most of my time on my 144 since last year I had forgotten what it was like to have to be very judicious with the throttle.

Walt

Yeah, Walt is a stand-up guy for sure! And I know what you mean about that torque. It's beautiful on the 360's I tell ya!!! I just love mine. "It's all in the jetting on these tractors"
