  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc wre 125 is being very naughty!!

your best bet would be to follow the wires youve more than likely got a nick in one of the wires, mines doing the same but ive found the culprit wire, my one is a damaged wire leading to the stator plate, does it kick over with out the electrics working ? and do they not work once kicked over

the electrics were all fine before the sidelight bulb went, I took off the two wires that connected to it and rode with them loose, then when I pushed the switch for the main light it was ok, the third time I pushed it the engine died. It will kick over still but the engine won't fire, no spark is coming out the plug so the lights don't work either way as the engine can't be started. You say you found a culprit wire leading to the stator, where is this? Does it run down from the wiring loom by the left radiator down the frame and end up near the powervalve then into the stator area?

ok I'm a dumbass, I just went out and looked, there is a wire coming out the bottom left near what I think is the stator plate, it's a gold wheel that spins with the engine, then I checked up by the fuse box, and looked at this little red thing, I pulled at it and suddenly the top comes off, hidden fuse! so I got a 10 amp [havent got a 15 like the one that was in there and broken] turned key and wolla, powervalve comes on [which it hasn't done for months even though it ran]. The plug suddenly sparked too :D now just to get a new mini blade fuse tommorow and hopefully it will run again. Though the lights didn't work with the 10 amp so I guess that's why it's 15. First pic shows the two fuses I changed over, the red thing in my hand holds the third fuse. Also the wre has the same engine as the sms 125 so this might help anyone who kills their fuses!030320141651.jpg030320141652.jpg
