  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Wr300 time to step it up

I rode my 300 again Wednesday and had a much better time . Leaner pilot and better technique on kicking and starting is not an issue

Getting used to riding and using more of the power . I got a bit of arm pump on throttle side but once that was gone it was good ( I think it was tight armour strap )

Its harder to ring it out between corners but it is faster up hills ( than 125/165). Not as much control on front yet though . I want to be able to use the top end
- that where the fun is .
If I am not up to it then it will be back to 250 cc or a 165.

Moving forks back down to 10mm and softening clickers has helped but not there yet.
I think a damper would be good or maybe flex bars to top it off.
Overall suspension is better suited to my weight than 125 was.

I changed clutch lever to ASV and it seems to be easier pull now . May try re routing cable to left side . Fully drain down lubing it helps . Not sure if there is a cleaner you can use to remove some of the old cable gunk first?

Got to open it up fully on a dirt road section and power is good more not over the top by any means. Does have quite a nice top end . Mikuni works well.
Spark plug looked a bit light after that so may go back to 430 . But generally its still very dark brown to black .
Not sure right now if need to go back up to 35 pilot from the 30.

One thing is good - I don't need more power - I just need to work on bike control and comfort. ( well for now anyway :D)
