  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Not sure where to go with this question, I am a slow rider with a fast rider grin and just got a new to me 2008 wr250. I cannot touch the ground with either foot, both just dangle. don't have the hundreds of dollars to lower properly. I am thinking of shaving the seat and putting a 110/80X18 rear tire on. Any body else done this? Any recommendations on a rear tire that size, might be hard to find. I see lots of 110/90x18. Thanks

Set your sag up properly and you might find the ground clearance might improve....what's your height and weight?

I set my sag then took 1" off the seat when my bike was new.I've got about a 32" inseam. It sits a bit lower now and I think it's perfect.I don't have any tire suggestions, never gave it much thought in reference to ride height.I keep my forks pretty high up in the clamps just above the third line on tubes.

I had the same problem when I got mine, ended up trimming the seat foam down now it perfect.

be carful when cutting the foam out on my seat base there is a raised rectangular bit not even sure why its there if you cut it down too far its a dam uncomfy ride.
the tyres if you go for a lower cross section that may help so instead of a 110 wide by 80 tall the 80 is a percentage of the tyre with so a tyre wich is 110 90 is taller than the 110 by 80.. unless ive completly messed up an have confused everyone.
sorry if thats the case.
