  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Wr250 seat way too high!

So I finally brought home the wr250 I love it! Only thing is it is huge! I’m only 5’8 and it’s hard to get my leg over lol. I’m going to set the sag to my weight which should help a bit but anyone else think they are way too tall? Anyone use a lowering link or just compress the shock a lot? I’m not riding any crazy terrain or jumps so I can sacrifice the suspension a bit.

Yes. Every time I pick up another WR, I remember how tall they are.

But at 5'9, I always used to it in a ride or two. Never notice it riding, only getting on and off. I just got in the habit of finding a rock/log/gutter etc, to give me a standing point.

what year is the 250??
I have a 30" inseam so they are tall to me too,,, but hey Dirtdame rides a tall bike :D

All my dirtbikes are tall. But I like some ground clearance in rocky terrain, so I leave the height alone, except for using softer seat foam and making sure that the suspension has the proper working sag in it....and I'm only 5'5, so probably the shortest of this bunch.

Yeah I’m 5’8 I set the sag to my weight it helped a lot also has a taller seat on it so can prob gain another inch or so with a different seat
