  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR250 FMF Gnarly ?

Jhunter

Husqvarna
AA Class
I'm thinking about adding a FMF Gnarly to my '08 WR250. Any first hand experience on the performance changes? My bike has quite a bit of torque and it pulls hard and all the way to the top. For some reason my bike doesn't have the 'power sign off' in the mid to top end like a lot of guys complain about with the later 250's & 300's. So, what should I expect for $225?

I also have a 2008 WR250 with a Gnarly and Power Core II. I never road the bike with a stock exhaust. I would basically describe my motor the same way you describe yours. Pulls fairly strong from idle and has a screaming almost 125 like top. This is with the stock Mikuni carb. The only other mod to engine is to have the head shaved for more compression. As you probably already know, the Gnarly is much harder to dent than a stocker.

I have the gnarly on my09 WR250 and it made it pull harder on top plus smoother in the mid with as much or more pull. I'm using the stock silencer until it's toast then I'm going with a Q stealth for the quiet bike.
+1 but I have a turbinecore on the back.

13/50 gearing gnarly pipe great for offroad. if you want more bottom end run stock silencer from older cr models. need more do pv adj. 50.5mm
