    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hi. I'm in the market for another bike. I am seriously considering a 07 WR250 if I can sell my Honda 450X soon enough. It's not the bike for me anymore. I want a 2t that rips in the nasty stuff. I have heard this is the bike for that. I also found a 08 CR125 for the same price and it's brand new. I am 6'3" and weigh around 190 most the time and am not sure if a 125 would work for me. I love the way it fits me and think small bore bike are cool. I pretty much only ride tight single track and know that both should do the job. Just don't know which is best. The 250 is owned by a friend and is pristine. He has four Husky's and this one has to go.

Any suggestions?
 
I can't speek on the 250 but I own a 08 CR125 and yes it rips. To tell you the truth I just got the bike because it was new left over 08 and cheap at $2,999.00 OTD. I thought this thing should be fun...boy was that an understatement. This thing is a BLAST!!! I weigh in at a little over 200 lbs myself and the bike doesn't care one bit. You think a line and you are there. It will lug around like no other 125 I've ridden and blast when you twist it up. I won't give up the light weight for more power in the woods. I'm 51 years young and mostly ride mine on MX tracks but the thing is an awesome wood bike. My other dirt bike is a 09 TXC 510 my wife got me. It's now only ridden about once a month. The 510 is a great bike for open stuff but once you taste the light weight cool aid you can't go back.
 
I don't know, we (my son and I) own both 08 CR125 and WR 250. I agree the 125 is a ton of fun, it is also more work to ride fast all day compared to the 250.
If I was only riding Hare Scrambles I'd race the 125, but for the odd day out dual sporting or riding an enduro, I like the 250 better.
 
trust me the 250, yeah i have a rm 125 and it rips, but so does my husy 250 and has tons on torque. given the choice i would take the 250, but as i hear the 125 is an awesome bike
 
I race a 07 WR250. A very versatile bike. Yeah 125's are fun, but you have to give them 100% to go fast. Plus piston maintenance will be more frequent on the 125.

I must admit the 250 is probably better for more riding situations and the 125 has to be ridden hard and this can mean more risk
but there is nothing more rewarding than getting into that 95 % of the bikes potential and feeling in contriol of the bike rather than the other way around
If you are good enough to use most of the 250s potential then it could also be as rewarding

i agree with this, but if you are a novice the wr 250 can be very user friendly, get a G-2 throttle cam system and stick the 400cam in and you have instant smooth low down action, fly wheel weight, the bike will lug around all day, you can short shift all day long, and when you trust the bike they fly
 
I'm truly amazed by my WR250. It's like every good thing you've heard about a Yamaha YZ250 motor, only more. The WR250 / 300 are probable the best value in offroad bikes right now. You can get one heck of a bike for very little money.

I wanted to buy one 10 years ago, but I was chicken. Now, I kick myself for not buying one back then.
 
I just picked up the 07 WR250. Can't wait to get it set up for me and go ride. :D I am pretty excited. I did get to ride it on the road a bit and it does haul ass. It will take a bit to get used to a 2stroke again. But I think I will get even faster than before. Thanks for the tips.
 
I got to ride my WR this weekend for the first time. WOW. It handles soooo good. It's light feeling and the clutch is easy to control with the power. I don't know if it's the Doma pipe or what, but I can see a little bit of whiskey throttle happening if you don't keep control. :eek: It is crazy fast up on top. So far, it's is way different from a Honda, but I'm impressed. :applause: I just need a few things to get it setup better for me and I'll go from there.
