  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

is that a ktm lifting strap on the back? - that would be handy

hey rockdancer.
thats a KTM 'soft tie' normally used instead of hooks on handelbars and connect to tie down straps when transporting.
i just cable tied it to the sub frame:thumbsup:

very handy in these situations

Cool videos thanks for sharing. That bike sounds and looks like it has some great power and speed. How would you describe the power? I need to get me a ride on a 250/300 some day.

Thanks for watching.
The bike is a trail weapon. even on slippery tracks:-

the 250 keeps up with 450's easy. the power is very angry for a 250, i've ridden 300's before and i don't like them, i'd prefer to hold it wide open on a 250 than a 300, which are more like a lazy 4 stroke.

i recently installed a procircuit exhaust on it and the difference was amazing. the power is more usable here's the pipe (thanks cafe husky)

Do you think with the correct suspension it would work on a MX track for an old fart (51 years old), medium speed rider. My 09 TXC 510 just has a lttle bit to much weight and TQ and it will put a whippin on me after 5 laps or so LOL. My 08 CR125 Husky is fun on the MX track but I would like a little more quick grunt for some of the jumps just after a tight turns. Thanks, John

Mine did fine on anything short of supercross tripples and reaalllly biig stuff!

Supercross tripples and really big stuff left me thirty years ago. I do still hit doubles and just like the MX track at our club with lots of table tops. Thanks R_Little. Hey did you have your suspension done on your bike? BTW we had a pro rider just join our club (Brad Bakken) he rides a KTM XC250 and he had that thing flying around our MX track.

Cool Anthony_1978 I can't wait for the MX ride report. Hope your parts get to ya quick and don't set you back much. Good question from topari " Husky over KTM?"

Thanks for posting. Was rec reg allowed ? Do you prefer the Husky over the KTM ?

I do prefer the Husky for the raw power and handeling:thumbsup:
but the ktm is more durable, i can ride it, wash it and park it. so far i've busted a lot of things @700kms:-

i've busted the kickstand bolt
peeling most stickers
broken the speedo cable twice
had the headlight fly off after the stay bolt dissapeared
same for the tail light
1 set of forkseals
& rear brake adjuster problems turned the solid rotor blue
flogged out the subframe threads now plastics are ziptied on
add dodgy gear lever (ordered a new alloy version today)
stock chamber smashed after a log crossing
fork guard smashed after i got t-boned on the trails

Mods so far:-
frame guards
pro-circuit full system/ eline carbon cover
replaced the front axle nut
'homemade' KTM tugger
'homemade' head light cover
B&B bash plate
pillow top grips
ego bark buster
tacho/ hour meter
fork bleeders
full length fork neoprene covers

Gearing:-
13- 48

jetting:-
stock

suspension:-
stock

wishlist:-
revlock dyna ring:thumbsup:
