  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc WR125,144,150 What is it?!?!?

Can someone please set me straight on the WR125? The 2012 is a 125 that comes with a 144cc kit? Is it referred to a "WR150" then? I swear I read an older article 2009 maybe that gave the stock WR125 displacement as 144cc and not a kit. What is the 2011, a 125 or 144cc? Also noticed on the 2012 there is no headlight/taillight?

Im assuming the WR163 kit is a bolt on for all above WR125/144/150?

Do owners hold on to these forever? Can't seem to find too many used for sale.

Thanks
Mike

Hey Mike the 2012 WR 125 comes with a spare 150 kit ready to bolt on; complete. It's still actually a 144cc set up. The stock 125 are really 124cc's. If you meant to say the WB165 kit and not WR163 then yes it's a bolt on kit to put together by a great member here and sold through Motosportz. Awesome bikes and yep they are hard to find. If you end up getting one you will see why people don't sell them.

Mike,

The headlight and taillight etc. come in a box with the bike. You can install it or not as you desire. The same is true of the 144 top end that comes with the bike. All this has been talked about many times and a search of the site will swamp you with references.

The 165 is a bolt on kit. E-mail Kelly at Motosportz and he will make it happen. Bonus with the 2012 is that you have a spare top end to make it happen.

The Husky 125/150 is such a great, bullet proof bike that we ride them forever. Why sell something that is this much fun and runs forever with very little upkeep investment.
