  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Wr 360 Transmission Oil Capacity

I recently acquired a 2000 wr 360. Last night I removed the drain plug to let the tranny drain overnight thinking I'd be able to find the capacity on this site. I did multiple searches but couldn't find out how much oil the tranny takes. Can somebody help me out?

According to the Husky dealer I use who races them also, said just throw the whole Quart in there! Probably a little overfull but if it needs to it'll just burble out the overflow, no harm, no foul. So, he threw the brand he uses in the box Motul 10-40w oil, not special tranny oil or anything. So, I've been running around for over a year with the above statement. I have the book also, so if you want the exact measurement I'll have to look it for you.

What pollo said. I do usually save little from the full quart to add to one of the other 2 strokes with a small leak. These are not finicky on oil either. I've used ATF for last 5 years with no clutch or tranny issues.

I just put the bike on level ground, fill the oil 3/4 the way up on the sight glass and go??

Don't get too technical on how much tranny oil the 360 needs....when it starts to get hard to find neutral then it's time to change oil

800ml of tranny oil is correct (l had 200ish ml left over from a 1lt bottle l used last week).

Thanks again. I went ahead and put about 900 ml in it. I guess if it doesn't like the extra 100 ml it can just blow it out of the crank vent tube. I saw that Hall's can get an owner's manual and a service manual. I guess I should probably just order some manuals. Until then I'll just continue to pick you guy's brains!
