  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR 360 Powervalve leaking oil - what sealing?

Hello guys

I have a bit of a problem with my WR 360 - I had to remove the cover of powervalve to change a seal which was leaking and now its leaking all over the cover...

the cover according to manual has no gasket just 4 bolts and its metal to metal...some gasket silicone will solve the problem?

make sure the sealing surfaces are perfect and the cover is not warped. dont use silicone around anything that gets contaminated with fuel. the beads on the inside that squish out will gel up and fall off and go all over. make a gasket is suspect an imperfection. bolts are 3 finger tight...do not over do it.

on the attached picture I changed part # 23 which was leaking. now its leaking all over parts 24 - cover and body.

I cleaned the surfaces and inside of the powervalve very well with WD 40 and looked perfect when I put the cover on ...

As I recall the seal is to keep dirt out
Look at the gasket below the power valve where it seals the valves
What ratio are you running
Is there oil coming out of your pipe?

I put around 200 ml of oil at every 10 liters of gas - 40:1 ratio
oil is coming out of the pipe
gaskets look fine...

From the parts diagram, seems like you need a new PV shaft seal.

The last time l had oil weeping from the PV was due to an air leak and bad jetting - too rich and all that oil in the exhaust goes everywhere.
