  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Wr 300 Rekluse Clutch Left Hand Rear Brake.

Hi,
I have installed a left hand rear brake on my 2009 WR300. I am using magura clutch lever and want to use the hot start as a secondary clutch.
My problem is that the clutch cable diameter is too big for the hot start lever.
My question is has anyone set one up?
Did they have to get a sustom cable made up?
Can you actually get a cable made up?
I have spoken to all of the local bike shops and have no luck.

Haggis78 did you figure out how to use the hot start lever as your secondary clutch lever? I too have a rekluse in my 300 and have now ordered a lhrb set up from Motosportz. The clutch pull is so easy with the rekluse installed I know the short hot start lever will work fine for blipping the clutch when needed to. My plan was to use the lever but now I might just cut back the old clutch lever and put a little bend at the tip so my index finger can get a good bite on it.
Thanks in advance for any advice given.

Steve

Rekluse makes a "hot start like" clutch lever that goes on the top of the MC that will fit your cable.

Hey Guys,
I have set up the LHRB with a secondary clutch.
I bought the Magura clutch lever and hot start from 100% mx. About $250.
It is the 10.5 and uses brake fluid not mineral.
I drilled out and tapped a thread in the hot start for the clutch cable.
Cable is slightly too long but I put a small cable tie around where it goes into the housing. Its enough to take up the 10 mm slack.
I got a braided line made up from Hel in Queensland $90 including postage.
Everything worked out well and the rear brake is awsome.
