  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Finally squashed it good ,no pulling that dent .....2012 with Kehien carb and Leo Vince silencer I have had fmf and PC on other bikes . I am leaning to the gnarly because of the tight woods I ride , I found one on line for $200 shipped ....my last fmf on a Ktm didn't fit well and always leaked Spooge ,....any thoughts...experience out there likes or dislikes ...gnarly fit with the Leo Vince ok ?
 
Can't help with the LV silencer, but put a Gnarly on my '12 300 and the fit was poor. I'm using a QStealth silencer and prefer performance of the stock pipe. I also have a Lectron and Rekluse and the Gnarly seemed too mellow for me. Planning to mount it again though to be sure at some point. I think some minor mounting mod's would make the fit better.

Agree with NCsteve, have the QStealth with the stock pipe on my '10 300. Keep an eye on the 2 subframe mounting tabs though.. Ive had mine re-welded twice and currently the front mount has broken off the silencer. Maybe its from too much MX and a heavy silencer? I dont know :excuseme:
 
ive ordered gnarly too but am a bit concerned over the fitment issues people keep mentioning. couldn't be worse than the pro circuit platinum2 could it?! if $ isn't an issue panhandebars maybe look at the euro pipes(doma, scalvini, hgs, dep etc). think they are more mid-top end orientated if that's your bag
 
My Gnarly is used, so can't complain or judge fitment to critically. Since so many others comment on poor fitment though so to be the case. With mine I have to really push for it to reach the front mount, so it also barely reaches the 2nd mount and the stinger portion has about 1mm clearance from the shock res. If my silencer mounts were mod'd to be @ 10mm lower fit would be much better.

Ordering today from "cycleplicity" pipe is $186 and 8 shipping so under 200 I will roll the dice , I ride tight gnarly single track and had a gnarly on a kdx and Ktm ... Always liked the nickel plating and thick gauge metal it's made from ...the noticeable bottom end power gains ....I have just never had one fit right up..always seemed as though there was struggle to line up mounts or make tabs to mount it .on the Ktm it leaked at the O rings /cylinder port and I used the viton green O rings and exhaust sealant and it would last a few rides and seep and leak ... Maybe my bikes are all bent hah!
 
I like the FMF Gnarly/Q-stealth on the WR. I have the PWK on my 300 as well. That combo with a 50 tooth rear is hard to beat for nasty single track.

All that was needed to fit the FMF was to loosen and rotate the exhaust mounts a bit in their frame tabs. That was it. My only fitment issue is the silencer touches my number plate. It is scratching up the silencer at the contact points... which is annoying me. Gotta find a fix for that. I'd recommend P3 for the pipe guard. Thickest guard I've seen... certainly thicker than E-line.

Yeah, that is a good price. Let us know how it goes.

My QStealth touches the side panel too. The edges of the panel started wearing grooves in it. I made some spacers by cutting up some plastic pipe scraps into strips and glued to the panel. That works for awhile, then the spacers fall off and I glue some more on the next time the bike is clean.
 
I have the Leo Vince silencer has awesome mounts and love it, it's light ...but if you use the spark screen you have to clean it every ride or it clogs with carbon ........

I found the deal on cycleplicity on accident when searching on Google ...I had typed in my bike and info blah blah Fmf wr300....but then found it on eBay for $202 then searched again by part number "Fmf 25148" and cycleplicity came up with 186$ and 8$ shipping so I did that deal...funny thing is I searched their site for an air cleaner and they had none when I used their own filters by year, model, and such nothing came up .....then searched by part # and they had it ....so try search by part #

Screen type SA on a 2t is not a good idea, FMF for one are non-screen.

Recently found a few sites I used to get lots of hits when searching for wr300 no longer give the same results. Like for EBC brake pads, I knew KTM had the same brakes, dug around and there was Husky listed in the fitment list, just didn't show up in a search :confused:
Same thing with air filters for me too. FYI: according to Twin Air the same filter, 157004, fits cr/wr/te/tc 125-510 1992-2013! Is that right?

That's the Twin Air filter I'm running on the WR (157004). Not sure about it's fitment on the TE/TC, but it works on the '14 300. :D

I personally like the Pro Circuit PCII with SA better than the Gnarly setup. The Gnarly is great low end pull no doubt, but in my opinion kills the upper rev. PC pipe pulls great down low and still revs to the moon. And its a 2 stroke so that's important to me.

I've got the PC2 and it works great, but I haven't had any other pipes. However, Pro Circuit stopped making them some time ago and they aren't available.

It's good to hear this. I've had a Gnarly and a Q-Stealth on my 250 for a couple years. I bought a PC pipe new and a slightly used PC silencer for a back up in case I smashed the Gnarly. I might switch them and use the Gnarly Q for the back up now. Did you have to change any carb settings when you made the switch? When I went from stock pipe to Gnarly with the Mikuni I had to go 2 or 3 steps richer on the main, now I run a Lectron.
 
I've got a gnarly + qstealth on my 250. It transformed my bike on the low end. I ride all tight woods, so I couldn't care less about, and never see, high RPMs. The Tusk Aluminum Pipe guards help a lot.

Fit was less than good. I ended up cutting 1" off the end to get my qstealth to mount. And the rubber frame mounts are stretched to their max to get the bolts to line up.
 
I had to flip mounts for pc2 plus cut some of my bashy out with a grinder due to low hanging front pipe mount. also melted a rear brake line(& nearly a 2nd but caught it in time didn't melt through braid jus outer plastic sleeve & a few braid strands) as it sits closer to frame than stock. mounts were stretched to fit. also lost 2 rubber joiners due to splitting at pipe/silencer junction(bigger than stock) so it would spooge unless you gasket gooed it. probably varies a bit from bike to bike & exhaust to exhaust but just my experience. wasn't bad system just shitty fitment & expected better from pc. also annoyed me that you had to use their silencers-seems a bit arrogant to me!
