  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey all. Im about to start the complete stryp down of the trusty Husky with my local shop
and have a couple of questions before I start.

- Can the tank/Shrouds/Rear subframe be upgraded to the 2014 TE/TC? The main frame looks the same.

- Does anyone make anodised blue wheel/hubs/rims? (cannot locate then anywhere) :(

- Who is the best online dealer for 2009 parts? I will be needing Radiators, Bolt kit, seat, etc
and subject to the first question possibly new plastics and tank.

Im hoping this can be done as its the most reliable bike I have ever had and has never let me down.

This is the plastics and tank combo I was thinking of upgrading to if possible. If it cannot be done no dramas
happy to stay with the existing setup.

Warp9 for wheels/hubs. Should be able to get the colors you want. Sprocket color there was only a couple of choices.
For whatever reason though they have a hard time getting the rotor size correct on Huskys (i'm stealing that quote from someone here on CH), so plan ahead and give them the size or order without.

Thanks Clete, will follow that lead up and drop them a line. ;)

Im also due for a new clutch. Are the Apico clutches as good or better than the factory kit?

Completely different bikes. Yours is an italian made husky the one you show is an austrian made KTM/Berg. None of those parts will interchange that I know of.

It can be done but you may need to weld bits on to the frame etc to bolt up correctly. Its probably alot of hastle but if ya gunna do it post pics and how too's up.

OK great thanks. I don't think going down the welding track is what I want to do so will keep her stock. I guess its just a case of finding all the parts now :)

You can always update the graphics for much les headache. Ajaxauto had Avik make his graphics and they look great!

GPI radiators (same one on ebay), yes they are chinese but they work very well and stronger than my OE's on my 2k WR250!!

Anodised wheelsets...you'll have to go OS to buy these as the majority of shops in Oz will have the std KTM/Yammie/Kwaka/Honda rims.

my rear sprocket which I got at local bike shop had Rmz stock numbers on it as well as husky numbers. I like the look of the blue graphics.
I work as a sign writer so I will make up some templates and print something similar.. Once they are made I'll let you guys know so can make some custom ones for u guys and gals.. It'll take a while as I get stuff all time to do my own stuff as they take ages to design and make Bugga all $ for them. After 2 years working there I still haven't made any for me or my kids.
About time but!
