  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st WR 250 Top Triple Clamp Help

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi all, does anyone have or know where to get a replacement top triple clamp for a 1999 husky wr 250 either new or used its running 45 mm zokes. im not sure what year will inter change if any.

The '01 and up bikes have a good bit less offset as well, so you'd need both the lower clamp as well if you went that route.

rancher1 is right too, the CR models use a different pin that doesn't work with the WR model.

this brings up an interesting question
the 99 vs 04 triples what is the offset and ultimately handling difference?

I've tried compiling info that's listed on the various repair manuals and by measuring the Triples on my bikes, but it gets pretty complicated with all the small changes Husky made.

I've compared a set of Triples off a '01 WR250, '02 CR125 and '04 CR125. They all have a similar offset, the only difference is the pin size on the CR is larger at the ends & tapered to support the 29mm Stem bearings.

My '00 WR360 and '99 WR125 have the exact same Triples, and the offset is quite a bit greater than the '01+ Triples, at least 10mm more.

If you check out the repair manual on the '99 and '00 250/360 bikes, they list the fork caster (trail) at 100mm and 103mm. The '04 repair manual lists the fork caster at 111mm (CR) and 114mm (WR), since the triples have a bit less offset in them.
