• 4 Stroke Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Italy - About 1989 to 2014
    TE = 4st Enduro & TC = 4st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Would the four stroke huskys be a "good buy" right now?

Zactly. Was t trying to rile people up...
Yeah, ok.

This could have been "Was trying" with an extra 't' tossed in, which is how I read it... or it could have been "Wasn't"...

I am not sure my mis-understanding was entirely my fault.

While I'm all for Husky , I own a 2010 TE 250 and it's a blast in the tight stuff. But hope their prices stay or below where they are now.

8-9k for a really nice new dirt bike is great - why not throw 3k or less for a used, proven reliable yami or honda.. I'm not too sure how long Husky been going with the enduro 449's or 511's .. but hopefully in 5 years, we'll still see these machines rocking.
I just hope prices don't start Kosting Too Much (OK maybe bad joke for this thread ) ...BUT you know, I'd like to see prices stay or get to 6-8k not 7-10k like it maybe going taking hints from the KTM 350 exc.

Not that they are not worth it, but not everyone has that kind of cash for a toy...

I remember seeing the mid-2000 hondas / yami's / suzuki 400/450s for $6300 retail price. Did inflation go up that quick???

i knew what the OP meant all along....Im in the same boat (no pun intended with original title LOL)...I may call tomorrow and put a deposit on a new 13 txc310r....I am a little hesitant tho...I ride a 2012 WR300 now and freeking love it...have not had a 4 stroke in several bikes and last one a did was an rmz450...So i would like to hear from some one who has ridden both models, what were the main differences in ride power ect...hoping for info on the 13 txc not 12...sorry for the hijack

BTW these things are seriously well built and solid. Yes a few have had issues but most have not. By this point we were seeing a lot of crank and rod bearing failures as well as many EFI and pump issues on the older 450/510. Don't get me wrong I owned several of those and very good bikes too. My personal 511 at almost 4000 hard miles is on the stock wheel and linkage bearings, brake pads, valve adjustment (not needed), chain and sprockets seem to last forever (CTS). Has been a super solid mount and I have had a lot of really good times on this machine. Very good do it all bike IMHO.
I love these bikes and I have spent an extraordinary amount of time bullet proofing their engines. As a community, we have created some very interesting mods which has made this bike go from good to great. :D

I just bought a new one :) TE449 Main reason I picked Husky's is the dealer is quite close. I checked some things first and part prices did not seem too bad, as the price of the bike new, big drop in price, and just released the new 2013 version, so I guess husky still intends to promote them. All new to me though.

I have not got it yet though waiting for it to become road legal

Its funny how the mags, people who know nothing about the bikes, and BMW haters all HATE this bike and those of us that have them almost all LOVE them. Part of what I like about husky is the uniqueness and this bike has it in spades and is IMHO cool looking. Win / win / win I get a unique bike that works great and, been super solid and I love.

I have ridden with countless KTM and Bergs and don't feel like I am out machined at all...

:D

Moose brand. When you ride in the NW wet crap all year round you run those. (Note buddies KTM has them also) Your hands slapping wet bushes in the morning sucks and soaks you 100 yards into the trail. We do what we can. Yes they look stupid, yes they work well.

I saw some great deals on Husky's recently. I wish I could purchase RIGHT NOW. I just don't have the resources, though its tempting to finance I have to resist. But if I did, I'd definitely by a new Husky. Glad my 09TE450 is still making me smile and is holding strong.
