• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

WORCS format?

ARod2000

Husqvarna
AA Class
I don't follow west coast racing very closely but saw an article somewhere where one of the pros was being really honest and saying he thought the one hour races weren't much of a challenge (or something to that effect). I didn't realize they were only racing for one hour. I certainly agree, that's nothing for a pro or the vast majority of all off road racers (even us lowly old farts!).

I know it's two motos over two days with some sort of mx or ex component.

So my questions are - what exactly is the format? What are they trying to achieve? Any history of how they got to a one hour race? And is it popular among the non-pros? What do you think of their format?

the WORCS pros are now doing 1-1.5 per race per day (Sat and Sun)
I think that Sean R and the WORCS crew should have stuck with longer format single race deal (my opinion. More in fashion with the GNCC gnarley super endurance physical condition style is a real test. However the overall high speeds in WORCS may have played a role in shorting the time on course (?) for rider safety?. One of our crew raced WORCS pro in 03-04 (top 15 rider) and most of those races were in the 2 hour mark, but were one pro race per weekend (as well as for all the competitors). GNCC is still in the 3 hour zone right? Can always call WORCS and ask what was the logic in the 2 day shorter race deal, they are very easy to speak with.
