  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Wont start

Success guys. I slowly turned it over about 3 times and pulled the choke on, no gas and it started 3rd kick. You do have to kick the crap out of it....... I got up on the tank like shrub said and it worked. I hope it's all good now. I rode it a few minutes and it was really snappy on the JD jet kit. Maybe it was just all my fault or maybe it was a combination of me and a little water on the filter that made it to the carb. As long as it keeps running, I don't care. I'm gonna call the dealer and ask for a working usb too. Thanks for all of the help guys.

Yeah I'm on wr300 #2 and I tell all my buddies who ride it that it takes a big boy kick to start it. Mine starts hard when the temps drop into the 30's and below but when its warm out or the bikes warmed up it's a one kick to start bike. Sounds like you got it figured out though. Good luck with it I love mine!

Ya, I was thinking about putting a sticker near my gas cap stating "Place gonads here to start":D but then I thought about it further and realized without a sticker a thief and/or campground buddy:rolleyes: will have a hard time stealing a ride on it. I just saved myself an insurance premium for theft.

i use mine all the time, im 70 kgs an no cracks or bends on the frame tab and the stands straight as it ever was. im a short arse so i need a stand when its cold otherwise its get it to tdc decomp and jump with foot coming down on kicker before instantly slipping off to stop falling over.

LOL just gave me a picture in my mind and had to laugh, laying there wondering what happened

Why does light kit matters?

I m 5-7 and my 300 is not easy for me to kick. I balance the bike and jump on pegs with both feet of the ground and kick it. Trick it to put foot down on the ground before falling off :)

It does take few kicks and I am thinking about Lectron to help things.

My 09 was a bear to start when cold. After it was warm it was a one kick deal, but getting that thing fired for the 1st time of the day was a beast. Being 5'9 doesn't help either!

love the bloke in the vid, hes bigger than i am an he uses the stand too!
i dont see the fuss its not like its going to write the bike off even if the tab rips off!
