• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Wolfman side rack and Husky tail rack?

So this little bit of unobtainium came in the mail today:

I put it on, but it doesn't seem to want to play nice with the oem Husky tail rack for the 630. Has anyone gotten both on? or am I going to have to get a different tail rack?

Thanks,

Alex

Nice racks Guoseph.

I couldn't get wolfman's siderack, seemed no store had it in their stock back then, so I got the side racks for my bike from Barret Products in Australia. One thing I notice is the Barret side racks are mounted much more forward than the Wolfman.

Looks nice. I've been looking for a rack setup for my recently acquired 630 to support some soft bags. Can't find the Wolfman ones anywhere, the TCI one looks good and is priced nice, but may be a little on the large size and I really want the flexibility to remove the side supports and keep the top rack. Might just have something made up locally. If you do end up selling the oem rack, I may be interested.

I've got the same brand on my TR650.

I put the crossbar in the back under to support the rear fender. Not sure about the 630s, but the rear fenders on the 650s tend to fall off.

The 630 tail rack doesn't have a cross member, unless you are talking about the cross member on the wolfman rack. In that case I see what you mean, but from what I have seen on here, this is how others have mounted it, or they have chopped off most of the fender :D

I think it may be possible to get both of them in there, but the Husky rack wants to fight with the white tail piece so maybe if I loosen that I can get it all wedged up in there.

So the oem rack is top of tail only, nothing on the sides. Right now I'm in an either or situation between the top and the sides and trying to figure out if it's possible for me to get both of them on there at the same time.

If you are interested in these racks the secret is to email Berg directly at http://brmoto.com/. He doesn't list any on the website but I sent him a note and asked for leftovers and he sent these to me. I dunno if what i got is truly a left over or if it's pretty easy for him to whip one up, so YMMV.

This is the oem tail rack w/ a rotopax on top:

I'm not sure about your bike, but here is a pic of my bike - just in case you have not thought of it. Really supports the rear fender. Clearly you should do what you think is best.

Interesting, also very interesting top rack, who makes that?
BRmoto - its for a tr650. No idea what they have for the 630.

The cross members going from the side racks up to the back of the top plate/rack was because I asked for that in the design... the tr650s rack has a lot of unsupported area in the back.

Hmmm. My Husky tail rack and Wolman racks work just fine in my 630. On and off no problem.

When I try to install, can't seem to get the holes to line up. The Husky rack gets pushed up into the rear fender, maybe I'm doing something wrong on the install.

Did you ever figure out how to get the Husky tail rack to play nice with the Wolfman racks?

Still working with Ken on the issue. I did go visit another TE630 owner and his Husky rack seems to give a bit more clearance, maybe there are two versions of the Husky tail rack?

I got the Husky tail rack mounted with the Wolfman racks. You have to notch the husky rack mounting plates and it will all bolt together nicely. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow.

That's what I did too, but I had a custom right rack made later on and haven't notched it yet. It's all pretty right in there.
